i maybe hear like 1 techno song per month on the radio, last night on the way to k-mart, i heard "Cascada - Everytime we touch" on G105 which is a pretty good one, but why is it that i never hear any kind of techno or dance music playing in this country..?

they have full dance channels in places like Orlando (and im sure out in Cali or NY). ppl in NC are a buncha hucklebucks that dont like it. the technology involved confuses and scares them.

because techno sucks.

because hip hop is the best music.

because if you don't listen to hip hop, you are not cool.

[i listen to techno/trance almost exclusively]

but here is the real reason in my opinion, behind which the 3 reasons above hide:

because most people don't have the sensory abilities to enjoy techno. whereas most people think that all techno is just one or two note going on repeatedly, that's not true. i have tracks in which most people hear 2-3 notes, whereas i hear up to 5 or 6 notes. and what's even more interesting is that the longer i listen to a track repeatedly, the more notes i hear in it. i have some pieces in which i am still discovering new notes, even though i have been listening to them for 5-7 years.

peep that shit yo

I more or less listen exclusively to house, it's only that or some other type of electronic music. I generally only step outside of that for the occasional disco or jazz song.

and no offense, but I put cascada right next to Special D, Starsplash, and Rocco, I have it in my music collection, but I'd never get caught listening to it, I do that in a secret room when I know no one is around.
