http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/19/jeff-zucker-conan-leno-de_n_428020.htmlsounds like zucker never really wanted conan on the tonight show, and only offered him the position to keep the carrot dangling long enough to keep both leno and conan on the air for 5 years. pretty shady, if you ask me. he should have let him leave 5 years ago when he first had the chance.this is such a bone-headed move by nbc, i dont get it. leno's fans are literally going to die, and they'll have to replace him with someone. and with nbc's track record of NOT giving it to the late night host, i wouldn't get my hopes up if i were jimmy fallon[Edited on January 19, 2010 at 4:10 PM. i would very much enjoy a sketch of 'In the year 2000 (not 3000), triumph, masturbating bear, vomiting kermit, and andy's little sister' in one last "fuck you" to nbc before he goes.

I'm sure the car was just rented, or maybe even borrowed. There are only 200 of them in the world.
1/21/2010 1:31:20 AM

Haha I was wondering what you guys were talking about - I watch the show on NBC.com, and saw nothing, but noticed the second segment of the show was very short.Found it on Youtube. Hilarious, including his delivery of the bit.

i'm assuming the 1.5mil price tag would've been what it would've cost to re-air over the internet. hilarious.
1/21/2010 3:20:15 PM
Well, I hate to be "that guy," and I'm really just playing devil's advocate I guess, but isn't it a bit tasteless to pull a stunt like that when $1.5 mil could have gone to Haiti?I know, I know, it's probably impossible for those funds to be routed as a donation per contracts and company policies and whatnot. Just sayin'. I hope it doesn't undo some of the galvanizing that's been going on to support his plight. Could impact where/how he lands next year. Mebee he could find some other way to stick it to 'em that didn't involve flashing a big "1.5$ MIL" on the screen at a time like this.Still, epic joke. Loved it.[Edited on January 21, 2010 at 3:23 PM. Reason : ]

If you're going to argue that money from that bit could be sent to Haiti, you should also argue that they should save production costs on a whole week of shows and air reruns all this week. Television is a business, not a charity.Besides that, I'm willing to bet Conan has already sent an enormous sum to StillerStrong.
1/21/2010 4:35:10 PM
lol, that is so freakin awesome. i'm surprised they didn't write language into his buyout agreement preventing stuff like thatand i bet conan doesn't even care about those characters, because he'll just make up new ones that are even funnier
1/21/2010 5:00:03 PM
i associate triumph with conan and love the triumph skitsmaybe they can find someway around itvictory the insult comic gerbil?
1/21/2010 5:15:36 PM

I've been saying for years that he has regressed as a comedian and improved as a dramatic actorSaw his stand up last year...paled in comparison to him 10 years ago
1/22/2010 11:52:21 AM
oh well if conan goes to fox which he prob will now, everyone is a winner, more late night options for different people, less arguing, even lopez tonight isn't that bad
