Guys remember the BMW Concept Gran Coupe, which will be made as a "4-door coupe" to compete with the MB CLS and Audi A7? I don't know if they would call it an 8-Series or stick with 6-Series. Here is a refresher:Well now the proper 6-Series Coupe has been revealed, basically a 2-door version of the Gran Coupe. BMW of course calls it a concept, but BMWs production vehicles look 99% like the production ready concepts they show the year before. To really see the details of the new exterior styling, check out the hi res pics at the link below, as well as 2 videos:http://www.worldcarfans.com/110091928489/bmw-concept-6-series-coup-revealed-videos-updated/highphotosI love the "Waterfall Dash", but I prefer to call it the "Stringy Cheese Dash" And finally, someone has rendered what the new M6 will look like, and going by past M models, it seems pretty accurate. If so, damn it is haaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwt!!!http://www.bimmerboost.com/content.php?502-Updated-F12-M6-renderings-based-on-6-series-coupe-conceptClick above for 5 colors.[Edited on September 24, 2010 at 7:08 PM. Finally a new BMW design I like. 6 Series coupe looks good! But I'm really hating on their current design theme of integrating the exhaust pipes into the rear bumpers as rectangles/trapezoids. That's just hideous - looks horrible on the 5 Series as well. The quad tips on the M version look way better!

these gorgeous pics should get anybody's blood rushing... bastards brought it to paris but didn't debut it at the paris auto show love the fender flares and bulges, looks very muscular.video here:http://www.worldcarfans.com/110100728873/bmw-1-series-m-coupe-teaser-photos-and-video-from-parisgoing by what he said (bmw 1-series m coupe), the official name would be i guess BMW 1 M... such a shame it can't be called M1.p.s. even at an "unveiling" they have tape on the lights [Edited on October 7, 2010 at 9:23 PM. lookin good so far. they sure do like to use those E46 CSL style wheels on all the new stuff don't they? can't blame 'em though...they are sexy wheels.

I love how they're drawing out the revealing of this car like it's something special. They're making a bigger fuss than they did for the last M3. Unless they changed the drooping lines on the side and completely redesigned the headlights its still gonna be an ugly looking car.
10/8/2010 8:44:01 AM
That new 6-series is a nice enough car I suppose--I like the nose and the interior--but does the rest of the car look like an oversized 335 to anyone else? I suppose it has a few distinctive elements but I'm just not feeling it.
10/8/2010 3:01:02 PM
you won't hear me say this that often but... i'd rather use that car as a bed for her than as a car.

Lines on the sides will still be drooping Anyway, for BMW lovers, especially relevant to all the discussions about how heavy cars are these days and how old school BMW Ms were so much better:http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/08/1988-bmw-m5-retro-review/Retro Spin: 1988 BMW M525 Years After Launch, Original M5 Still Stirs The Soul

I don't like the new fenders at all, yuck. That M5 is cool, one of my favorite BMWs.

Not that I'd really buy it but... details plz.
10/9/2010 8:08:49 PM
good condition. runs and drives great. needs a few minor paint touchups. not sure on the miles, but it's over 100K. needs a few bushings and what not, but he is a pro BMW mechanic and is fanatical about keeping it running right and will have everything tight before it's officially for sale. timing chain has not been replaced, but he has all the parts to do the job.
10/11/2010 11:59:27 PM
I'll give him like $3k for it.

BMW releases engine details, weight, and pricing of the upcoming M1 1 M.The engine is from the BMW Z4 sDrive35is, so this is basically a 135is, with just 40 hp more than the 135i. If they are going to call it the 1 M, why didn't they go ahead and throw in around 375 hp, so as to have a bigger jump from the 135i?Anyway, they are playing it up as a revival of the first M3.
10/13/2010 9:21:17 PM
It still weighs 800 lbs more than an e30. And 50lbs less than my much larger awd grocery getter.Great engine, great chassis, still a porker though.
10/14/2010 9:13:54 AM
the new 1M still has a better power/weight ratio then the E30 M3 though.
10/14/2010 10:51:54 AM
They talk about a lightweight M vehicle. I'll take BMW seriously when they produce something that's less than 3000lbs and doesn't look like a chubby pig. It's been reported that they're only producting 2700 of this vehicle, so look for lots of dealer markup.

Fuel pump is starting to die out, just like everyone else's. Of course, they won't do anything until it's dead.

There is no updated pump, they are now replacing with refurbed pumps (they went to a new part number, now back the original). The 'recall' is the same thing they have always been doing, the 'new' pump will just fail again.
10/29/2010 3:00:54 PM
hmm so they are not switching from #13-51-7-613-933 and #13-51-7-613-945 model # pumps? i read that N55 now use the same model number pumps as well...
10/29/2010 9:24:22 PM
grr. if they would fix this shit i might buy one. what i WANT, is an e9X with an s54...
10/30/2010 12:29:30 AM
yeah this a serious problem on these cars. i'm afraid because of stories like this...http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279731
10/30/2010 10:04:00 AM
From what I've been told, they will update the software mapping first. They won't replace the pump until it's actually broken.Either way, it's annoying.

Not bad....but the "pot belly" drooping sides still look horrendous.I've seen some screen caps from that video above and I like the new headlights, but really really dislike the front bumper. It seriously looks aftermarket and almost tacky. I really have always enjoyed BMW's refined style but the 1M looks almost clownish. I expect they are trying to pick up the younger cross-shoppers for cars like the 370z etc. That being said, I just picked up a 2011 335i Coupe (M-Sport, 6mt) and am really loving it, but I definitely would have taken a look at the 1M if it was out. I'm guessing it'll probably have a base MSRP of 43k...definitely the cheapest way to get an ///M in the garage [Edited on December 9, 2010 at 3:31 PM. Reason : sp]

has anyone here tried a Procede tune?I'm not big into modding or aftermarket shit, but this look pretty easy for some serious gains. I know the N54 could really shine with a simple tune, but I have an N55 and am a little nervous about messing around with a tune before the engine has been proven.Also.....how safe is a simple piggyback tune like this? don't want to fuck anything up, yo

1/18/2011 5:31:47 PM
haha, bmw is hilarious. my viscous-coupled 4wd E30 weights 2800 lbs and that is still lighter than anything from the current generation.E30 <3 <3 <3
1/18/2011 6:37:56 PM
^I'd like to take a ride in it again when you're free on a weekend. Any changes since the last time?
1/18/2011 8:04:06 PM
1/18/2011 8:25:23 PM
I hate doing this in THIS thread too, but... Porsche's 996 is lighter than the 993, about the same as a 964. The 997 GT3 is lighter than the 996, and the current (MK2 997) GT3 is lighter still. I mean <3 to BMW, but yeah...
1/18/2011 8:40:06 PM
supercars are another breed, and the only exceptions. (even then, not always)i doubt any non-supercar has ever gotten lighter from one generation to another, especially a transition involving a major design change.
1/18/2011 8:53:54 PM
i wouldn't call the 996 a supercar.
1/18/2011 9:01:27 PM
well, i meant super cars and/or proper sports cars.
1/18/2011 9:08:30 PM
i'm still getting used to my 335i's gearbox. Maybe it' all about break-in but the 1 --> 2 shift on the MT gearbox is temperamental the gearbox overall is very notchy, which i like, but shifting to second can be pretty damn notchy, while at other times its super smooth. I got a little lazy today and wasn't paying attention and grinded it into 2nd i died a little on the inside
1/18/2011 9:35:30 PM
So the 350/370z is another addition to the 911/GT3 that got lighter/gained power just the way it should be... But practically every other car I can think of did put on weight. They don't make "simple" cars anymore either, which is too bad. I remember the removable roof (controller) on my 84 944 getting an input from the DME about vehicle speed, which it got from the cable driven speedo to latch the roof in automatically if you set it on the car, but didn't attach it, and started to drive away... Today my e36 M3 blew a fuse for the passenger sidemarker b/c of a short in the power lock circuit to the trunk... Likewise even though the 370z/997 are lighter, they have a multitude of (some fiber optic) on board bus systems, w/lots of control units, and intercepting boxes, etc. This actually has the potential to save weight and technically makes things more reliable, but I'm not looking forward to having to troubleshoot something like that.
1/18/2011 10:08:43 PM
you should try to troubleshoot some of the crap f25s do.. even when they are brand freakin new.computers cause ugly issues. a blessing and a curse. like women.
