Figures... Takes an EVO owner to find that thing graceful.
9/8/2009 3:11:46 PM
Well I mean once you get a car that is already awesome from the factory...its hard to go back to wasting $1000's and time on a car to make it some what decent. But i wouldn't expect you to understand...yet.

Holy shit. I was just thinking about this the other day. The idea of using a deisel to run an alternator to power either 2 or 4 electric motors for either 2wd or awd setups. Deisels are reliabile and would get great "mileage." Beats having huge/heavy batteries too. I'm all for it.

"Oh look, another ugly car from BMW."

i think i saw that car in minority report

I am sure BMW will use technology and design elements from that concept in its future models, but if BMW were to make it as it is (which they won't), I guess it would be in the same class as the Tesla and Fisker Karma... i.e., cost anywhere between 60K and 100K.But... 1.5 litre 3-cyl turbodiesel... oh yeah!

that diesel produces 163 hp and 214 lb-ft, from 1.5 litres and 3 cylinders!those numbers are normally produced by 4 cylinder gasoline engines displacing 2.3 to 2.5 litres.

LEST WE FORGET THE 99 CIVIC SI - 1.6L, 160 HP (nevermind the torque curve bahhahah)

wicked looking ridei just hope as hell BMW got more balls than GM and this thing won't look like another Prius when it comes out.
9/9/2009 2:46:25 AM
^have you seen how ugly 1/2 the BMWs sold are these days? Not sure why you have such high hopes.
9/9/2009 9:36:40 AM
I like how the 135i and the M3 look. I prefer the 3 series sedan over the coupe, oddly enough. BMWs, though sexy, are starting to look "bland" in my eyes. Probably because I see them everywhere...
9/9/2009 10:04:56 AM
^^there are no ugly BMW's in the current line up that i've seen. Not all of them are something i'd want to own but they don't look ugly. The 7-series included after its 'touch-ups' with the rear end and head lights.^I like the rear of the coupe over the sedan haha.[Edited on September 9, 2009 at 10:23 AM. Reason : .]

1-Series - stubby little Hyundai wanna be3-Series - sexy in all forms (but have you seen pics of the new 2011 model? Fugly)5-Series - looks like a tarted up Pontiac, only the M5 looks good (and you shouldn't have to rely on modified fascias, vents, and pipes to look good)6-Series - looks like a big fat bar of soap7-Series - new one is an improvement over the last model, which I heard was reported to cause blindness when looked at too often. Still uglier than anything MB, Jaguar or Audi has.X3 - looks like an aborted X5X5 - looks goodX6 - cool looking, but what's the point?
9/9/2009 10:37:11 AM
^^ I do like the rear end of the 3 series coupe as well. I like the front end. I do not like the side shots... it looks awkward, like someone with a very long neck.
9/9/2009 10:43:02 AM
I like the coupe for what that is worth. I would never buy a BMW coupe. If I'm getting a 3500lb car I'm getting four doors.BMW doesnt make anything ugly. The 1 series is less then ideal but it is not ugly. $0.02

the newer BMWs with Bangle's ends are ugly IMO. They look too much like other cars and not distinctly BMW anymore.
9/9/2009 12:18:19 PM
I forgot to mention the new bloated Z4....ugh
9/9/2009 12:21:29 PM
i forgot about the z4. it actually looks good. Much better than the Z3
9/9/2009 4:12:09 PM
I like print pics of the new z4, but I went and saw one over at Flow bmw in w-s, and behind that toothy grille in the new z4, there's a tremendous amount of completely empty space. It looked like a small child could crawl in the lower air intake and hide in there! I.e.- it made the whole front end look like an overstyled pos. I much prefer the 135 b/c in print it doesn't look like much, but in person, I've yet to see one that didn't look like an ordinary car, but just "functionally filled to the brim" in every dimension. (tire-to-wheelhouse spacing, amt of room inside per-unit-footprint, amt of the rear end that is available for space to use inside the trunk...). It looks like a super-handy car that has cleverly disguised itself to look like something ordinarily low-key. If it wasn't obvious what it was packing, it'd be totally "sleeper"
9/10/2009 7:39:36 PM
Unfortunately the Z4 is no longer a sports car, more a mini-SL. It's pretty shitty that it doesn't even have a true E-brake.I think the 135i convertible is closer to the old Z4 than the new Z4, lol. Better performing too.

I love the break down of BMW's by a Honduh owner, thats hilarious.
