Fortunately the AL is terrible and any team sniffing .500 can be considered a playoff contender. Is this the year TT starts a Twins thread?
7/31/2015 2:58:10 PM
took this thread 7 months to make it to page 2. no point in a twins thread.
7/31/2015 3:03:35 PM
I'll take it to page 3 bro. Also I'm 31 and we started doing this back when I was 23. We are old.
7/31/2015 3:08:27 PM
Lol the sox fucked up. Shouldve been sellers. Detroit thanks you
7/31/2015 3:53:33 PM
Best rotation the AL. Just have to play .750 ball to make the playoffs. Not easy but not impossible.
7/31/2015 4:29:37 PM
Best rotation? LolStats show they have the 6th best before the jays traded for price.
7/31/2015 4:37:00 PM
I, too, am in my 30's and made a Twins thread 8 years ago message_topic.aspx?topic=469712not sure what any of that has to do with anything though
7/31/2015 5:00:40 PM
Why would you LOL at at a 1/2/3/4 of Sale/Quintana/Samardjiza/Rodon? Do you follow baseball?"stats show" .. whatever. The White sox were abortive in April. [Edited on July 31, 2015 at 8:33 PM. Reason : .]
7/31/2015 8:31:24 PM
Not exactly Carlos' best showing tonight
7/31/2015 9:58:14 PM
Damn Yankees
7/31/2015 10:07:04 PM
Carlos shit the bed. He's not really been given a legit opportunity to learn and grow. I was at the game when he first got pulled in: BASES LOADED, NO OUT. He threw 8 straight balls. It was ugly!
7/31/2015 10:34:44 PM
Sale has been awful his past 3 starts. Jeff samardjiza is one of the most overrated players in baseball. Rodon is not ready. Quintana is a great #3 starter. The lineup is putrid. I have enormous amounts of baseball knowledge. Yes, lets completely ignore how players have been performing over a 100 game sample size and speculate based on overrated players(shark), hype (rodon) , and a player whose delivery leaves him susceptible to arm fatigue and other issues whose velocity is down (sale)That is all
7/31/2015 11:16:45 PM
I'd take the astros, rays, angels, bluejays rotations over the sox[Edited on July 31, 2015 at 11:23 PM. Reason : Z]
7/31/2015 11:21:13 PM
lol nice analysis. Chris Sale hasn't even flirted with a 4.00 ERA. Here's a website where you can learn more about baseball and numbers n' stuff.http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/salech01.shtmlGet a grip... "delivery leaves him susceptible to arm fatigue and other issues". Go work for ESPN.
7/31/2015 11:41:08 PM
On top of that... 10 years ago the Tigers were sellers. 10 years later they've made the postseason a bunch of itmes and can't do dick. As shitty as the Sox are at least they know how to close a deal. Price to _________?
7/31/2015 11:48:21 PM
Does anyone know if Randy Johnson, the LHP with a more aggressive side motion than Chris Sale, just got elected into the HOF this month? What about Pedro Matrinez, whose record of 10Ks/game Chris Sale just tied this year... did he get elected into the hall of fame this year? Can I drink some koolaid to make me dumb to pitching numbers?
7/31/2015 11:54:03 PM
Sale is already a first balloter according to Crede
7/31/2015 11:57:18 PM
First ballot unless Chris Berman declares his arm fatigue to be too detrimental. At no point should we look at his actual numbers.TT this would be like me dumping on Johan in 2005. Dude was terrifying to face.
8/1/2015 12:00:44 AM
Calm the fuck down Crede you're three games below .500 [Edited on August 1, 2015 at 12:01 AM. Reason : o]
8/1/2015 12:00:48 AM
God damnit I'm going to the game tomorrow and I'm getting my Scotty Pods bobblehead and I wanted it to be better than this!#SouthSidersDon'tHaveALotGoingOn
8/1/2015 12:02:32 AM
Lol way to not refute my arguement in any way.Chris sale is a good pitcher. He's just not a guy whose health id want to bank my next 2-3 years on.Speaking of looking at actual numbers, his velocity is down, he has been getting knocked around recently.......facts, just sayin...... I am glad you found baseball reference. Now you can look up other teams who actually have better rotations, like the Astros for example[Edited on August 1, 2015 at 12:29 AM. Reason : Z]
8/1/2015 12:27:22 AM
Not sure what your beef is. Did Chris Sale have a bad start yesterday? Yes. Is he a Cy Young caliber pitcher? Absolutely. I think you should talk more about his arm motion to discredit him.I'm still solid on the Sox #1-#4.
8/1/2015 12:29:56 AM
Science has proven the detriment of the W of doom when it comes to pitching motion and arm angles. Its just a matter of time. You mentioned randy johnson, his delivery was much much different. He used much less of his upper body and specifically less of his elbow to generate the force to deliver the ball. I can get extra scientific about this shit but its too late in the evening for that[Edited on August 1, 2015 at 12:46 AM. Reason : M]
8/1/2015 12:45:28 AM
I guess thank you mother time for sparing me your hard data on why Chris Sale sucks.
8/1/2015 12:48:55 AM
Me:
8/1/2015 12:53:12 AM
I don't know the exact contract but I think Sale is signed thru 2017 with a sweet contract for the Sox. Why do you care so much about his future? I care about him dealing this season and I was pissed off when he had a bad game yesterday.
8/1/2015 12:55:19 AM
my favorite part of the White Sox (aside from the Charlotte Knights, obviously), is their great Chicago announcer Ken "The Andre Dawson" Harrelson.
8/1/2015 2:17:47 AM
My favorite part of Ken Harrelson is when BRadke gives up homers to Bonerko and Ken would say something like,"He looks Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up and you can put it on the board, yes!"
8/1/2015 10:30:49 AM
looks like I don't know what im talking about when it comes to chris saleoh wait
8/5/2015 11:47:23 AM
10-7 on a shitty team, leading the league in FIP, Ks, and K/9. Go on.
8/12/2015 11:27:13 PM
he admitted he is a Cy Young caliber pitcher. seems his criticism is that his arm motion won't stand the test of time. remember when Big Time Timmy Jim was the most dominant pitcher in the Majors?[Edited on August 12, 2015 at 11:35 PM. Reason : arguably][Edited on August 12, 2015 at 11:36 PM. Reason : oh nm, you said he was cy young caliber. still though]

"Best rotation in the AL"LOL
8/12/2015 11:40:27 PM
John Danks just gave up 1 ER in 7.1 IP. He's their #5. Shane Greene has started 18 games for the MLB Detroit Tigers this year and isn't even on the MLB 25 man roster. Verlander is basically as good as Danks, but Danks is at least ~3 ERA since the ASB.Anibal has a 4.95 ERA. David Price is gone. Am I missing someone? You want to talk about pitching?
8/12/2015 11:49:34 PM
Youre the one who said the sox have the best rotation in the AL.The tigers are obv rebuilding for 2016 and are still on pace with the sox even withiut cespedes, price, soria, and cabrera who has been out for almost 2 months. We're not the idiot team holding out hope that made 0 moves at the deadline with one of mlb's worst farm systems
8/13/2015 7:41:34 AM
They'll build their farm with the first round compensation pick for Samardizja. Not sure who they really could have have dealt and expected a farm replenishing. Do you watch a lot of ESPN?
8/13/2015 1:47:19 PM
Some notes on Sox rotation this year.#1 in MLB in WAR#2 in AL in FIP#3 in MLB in K/9#5 in AL in BB/9#3 in AL in HR/9#1 in AL in Quality Start %#1 in AL IP/Start3rd from last in AL run support. That's my hot take.
