i put mayo on the inside of my grilled cheese, and butter spread on the outside. the mayo like, melts with the cheese and gives it an extra zing or something...

dip the outside parts of the bread in olive oil then sprinkle on some garlic salt put cheddar and white American on the inside...then grill it (George Forman style)it's delicious

The Cheesecake Factory actually has a pretty damned good grilled cheese sandwich. They use this phenomenal egg bread, real butter so it's nice and crispy, and REAL cheddar cheese -- not that processed shite.^I'm a purist when it comes to my grilled cheese.
