1/24/2010 4:09:50 PM
I, too, love to eat!but every time I make a thread on it I get flamedbut that probably won't stop me in the future
1/24/2010 4:10:45 PM
Substitute Parmesan, Mozzarella or and / or pepper jack for the velveeta. add some diced jalapenos and serannos, maybe a red bell pepper.
1/24/2010 4:13:29 PM
LOLZ mimi's sausage dip
1/24/2010 4:13:33 PM
^^nope. it needs nothing else.
1/24/2010 4:17:59 PM
ive had something similar at christmas. with fritos. sooooo good!!! my mom didnt make it with cream cheese, though. just jimmy dean sausage cooked and drained, velveeta, and a can of rotel. mmmmm
1/24/2010 4:23:29 PM
The Velveeta isn't even necessary, and actually makes it impossible to reheat properly.Or you could just go to PR and have them make it for you.
1/24/2010 5:24:24 PM
there should be no reason to reheat this stuff. it goes quick.
1/24/2010 5:34:02 PM
^^ untrue. when we made it, we made it a day beforehand along with everything else we were serving for this party, just to make it easier. it tasted fine reheated. we put it in one of those mini crock pots on low, and it tasted awesome, even being reheated. but yeah, that stuff went QUICK! if you make it on the spot to be eaten on the spot, there will be no leftovers. ughhh im so hungry for this now.
1/24/2010 5:40:29 PM
i do it without the velveetasome people refer to this as "goat vomit"? kinda disturbing
1/24/2010 6:13:05 PM
i dont see how this works w/o velveeta
1/24/2010 6:14:38 PM
i've never done it with velveeta either...just the sausage, rotel & cream cheese. it works just fine, and is very tasty.
1/24/2010 6:18:54 PM
yo' what kinda sausage?
1/31/2010 2:22:41 PM
ive never tried this with velveeta...Try putting some taco seasoning in it...^ neese's sausage in the block packages.[Edited on January 31, 2010 at 2:36 PM. Reason : ]

^^^this is not a "nacho dip" recipe... this is a thread is a tribute to the ultimate in party food perfection. I used the kind of sausage in the block of paper... not Neese's but the other brand that's pretty much the same. It was "spicy" as opposed to "mild"and NO do NOT use hamburger meat. that shit would be vile. [Edited on January 31, 2010 at 4:05 PM. Reason : ]

^^BLASPHEMY!I honestly think 50% of why I like it (there or homemade) is the Fritos.
1/31/2010 4:29:14 PM
WOMAN... WERE GETTING FRITOS AND THIS STUFF!
1/31/2010 4:31:13 PM
what kind of sausage?we do this pretty regularly minus the sausage. sounds good
1/31/2010 5:01:34 PM
i use whatever kind of hot sausage i can get. the hot jimmy dean works fine. nahunta, neeses, whatever.
1/31/2010 5:03:54 PM
need to throw some chilis in there and some sharp cheddar... then you have a good dip (oh, and it should be spicy sausage too)it is a really easy thing to make, and like it was mentioned earlier, is a great for parties
1/31/2010 5:04:11 PM
or as I mentioned earlier, remove the casings from a package of brats and brown that meat upi usually go this route, but breakfast sausage is good too
1/31/2010 5:18:48 PM
always made it with sausage, Rotel, and either Velveeta or cream cheese.. never done both cheeses together..we always called it dog vomit jam
1/31/2010 6:23:45 PM
for the best result use the type of sausage in the block. it cooks up better and has a better texture. and no, you do not need to add anything to this. while i'd normally agree that peppers and whatnot are good, this simply does not need them, and they could throw off the balance of the perfection that this has achieved.
1/31/2010 6:53:59 PM
the best way to eat said dip is with fritos scoopsholy shit do want
1/31/2010 8:10:05 PM
yeah i bet it would be good with fritos. I like it with tortilla chip bowl things. That or the On The Border chips you can get at Sam's Club.

2/6/2010 3:14:14 PM
There's a pretty easy way to make this, the instructions for which I just followed.Go to the store. Buy sausage, salsa, velveeta, and cream cheese in the amount of your choosing. Heat the velveeta and cream cheese in a crock pot after cutting it into smaller cubes/pieces. While the cheese is melting, cook the sausage in little balls in a pan, following the directions on the package. Once the sausage is browned, place it on a plate with paper towels on it and let the grease get sucked out of the sausage somewhat. Break the sausage up into little bits with a fork or a knife or something. Once the cheese has started to melt fairly decently, throw in the sausage bits and the salsa. Stir that motherfucker up. Eat it.I just made 5,570 calories worth of this here dip, shooting from the hip on quantity, etc. There are just over two quarts of this shit sitting in my crock pot. I am going to kill everybody at the party with this stuff, because it is so vile and addictive that we are going to eat it ALL in one sitting. I predict much vomiting from fat poisoning, which is good cause I could use a day off work tomorrow.[Edited on February 7, 2010 at 1:53 PM. Reason : "Hot" carolina pride sausage, medium salsa (large jar), regular cream cheese, lg box velveeta.]
2/7/2010 1:53:06 PM
gotta use the "hot" rotel (with the habenero)I believe someone is making this today down the street (where I'll be for the first half of the game)
