Sports, from best to worst, are as follows:Rugby - You have to be tough as nails to play.Soccer - The most physically enduring sport, but not as much roughing up as in Rugby.Basketball - Really fun to watch, really fun to play and always has awesome storylines. Hockey - Fun once you get to know the sport. Falls to basketball because you essentially have to be upper-middle class (or higher) to play.Football - A pansy-man's rugby.Baseball - Not as athletic or physical as the other sports.

No, I'm a fan of a sport I do not watch.Great fucking question.
4/11/2009 8:15:27 PM
Playing the sportHockey - I started playing when I was 4. Nothing else like it imo. It's a fast, tough game that also requires a great deal of skill.Baseball - Played a good while and always had a good time. America's past time, nuff said.Basketball - The great thing about this sport is that an average joe with no jump shot can play as long as he can pass, dribble, and play defense. It is a great team game. In a high school gym class 5 of the black guys challenged 5 of the white guys to a game for fun, with me being one of the white guys. No one on the two teams were racist we just decided to change it up and see what would happen. All of the guys had often played pick up games with each other. The black guys team had 2 of the school's basketball players and two football players. The white guys team had 3 of the school's baseball players, some other guy, and myself. They thought that they were better athletes and would bury us. Well we were a better team and more cohesive and ended up beating them pretty bad, b/c they were all about themselves. I only shot three shots that game as I was more of a passer at PG. I missed one jump shot from 15 feet out, knocked down a layup toward the end, and knocked down a 3 pointer. They didn't think I'd shoot and even told the guy guarding me to not get so close b/c I wouldn't shoot the ball, so I calmly pulled up at the top of the key and swooshed one in. Needless to say he stayed on me the rest of the game. I typed up this story to prove my point that bball is a great team game.Football - I only played pick up games at school and summer camp. Besides it would have interfered with hockey and I also preferred being in the marching band b/c we ran the school. It was like an HBCU band. Also the football team was terrible.Golf - Even though I hate how I play with my woods. I do have a pretty nice short game though. WatchingCollege Football - I love everything about the sport, from the tailgating to the traditions, and of course the coeds. Pro football is much lower on the ratings thoughCollege Basketball - Similar to college football, but there is a lack of tailgating unfortunately. NBA is behind baseball though.Hockey - I like watching all forms from minor league to NHL. Unfortunately it loses some of its excitement when I'm watching a regular season game on TV. Being there is so much better. Baseball - Unfortunately it is a slow game to watch, but that's also a good thing b/c unlike the others it is the ultimate kick back and have a brew type game. I can't get into it as much when it's on TV though.Soccer - Sometimes exciting, sometimes boring as hell. Unfortunately it is usually more boring than exciting.
4/11/2009 8:15:57 PM
damn brass, lot of words in that post.. I read it anyways because I respect your insight and opinions.that basketball piece is borderline racist though.[Edited on April 11, 2009 at 8:22 PM. Reason : []

Thanks. I know that we as Americans are more likely to like football than soccer, but I think that if other nations learned the sport then they would like it, perhaps almost as equally as soccer. I mean even if you have a low scoring hockey game, at least there is a lot of action and hitting to entertain you. There's none of that in soccer and I am one who watches FSC fairly often. I love sports for one.I said that no one playing was racist. We all knew each other fairly well. IIRC, the reason why the black guys vs. white guys game started was b/c one of the black guys made a joke and it just gave them the idea to make the challenge. I mean the black guys were decently athletic but for some reason they thought they were better than they actually were. Especially the two football players for some reason, and as I said before the football team was terrible, haha. I'm definitely not racist. As I said I was in a marching band that was almost entirely black. I think they underestimated us though. It wasn't like we weren't athletic. 3 of the white guys played baseball for the school, I played hockey, and I think the other guy ran CC.Can someone embed this for me? <param[Edited on April 11, 2009 at 8:39 PM. I need action at least and soccer doesn't always deliver unfortunately. I sometimes wish I could get the time back from watching some of those "thrilling" 1-0 soccer games on FSC.

HAHA! So, simply liking additional sports to what other people enjoy somehow lowers our sports knowledge in your eyes? Thats great! Plus I guess I should be really worried about what other people think about my "sports knowledge." I think Baseball is the worst to watch on TV, but it would be ludicrous for me to think less of someone as a sports fan in general simply because they enjoy the sport more than I do. I mean thats just hilarious. You are the worst troll ever.[Edited on April 11, 2009 at 8:50 PM. Reason : ]

Seems like people are answering two different questions, one that was asked, and one they made up in their head.NFL is not a sport. Football is a sport.I based my list on both watching and playing factors. These are the results now. I do go through phases where my favorite will shift between the top three.Lacrosse (grew up with it, played it longer than any other sport, has the best elements of all sports in my opinion)Soccer (used to hate it, now I see what the "big deal" is - love playing and watching)Hockey (at times has been number one, but I haven't been watching as much as I used to and haven't played in a while)Football (never played, sort of regret that, but it's football and too big to not get into)Baseball (when i was younger, was definitely my number one. now that i've played other sports the boring factor kills it.)Basketball (I'll play basketball, but would easily rather play any of the other ones on this list, with the exception of maybe baseball, instead. And I'd rather watch paint dry than watch the NBA.)Oh and I don't give a fuck what OhBoyeee has to say about any of this. I threw the lax ball around today and am still going to play some soccer tomorrow while his troll ass sits at a computer.
