It'd be so trivial to implement, and people already "rate" threads as the full content of their. Bonus points if you can inline your rating in a post.

An extra column in the thread list would be good, that way, if someone was spamming a thread it would get rated down and you'd know to skip over it. I don't think it would clutter anything up. This site is still how I remember it when I left, except it has ads now.

I brought it up in mod forum back when nael took over, pretty much was dismissed by all the other mods as either unnecessary or a bad idea.

I am pretty sure this (original post) could be done unobtrusively, without cluttering the interface.

For example, one could replace the [new] GIF with a GIF indicating the rating after you've viewed it once, maybe even falling back to the [old] GIF if a few users comment [old] in the thread and the thread is otherwise not rated highly.

similar idea:

i'd like to see a personal flag option. i want to have a little indicator when a user a's thread is on a page or a little red x indicator when user b's thread is on a page. you could wedge the gif between / and the thread title. just something to pop when i look along the left hand side of a board.

likewise, say i venture into a thread that turns out to suck. i could flag it for my own records so i don't inadvertently go into it again later (i'm getting old- memory is failing)

i've also been playing around with an idea like that. at some point i'd like to make a firefox greasemonkey or extension to provide those kinds of features (perhaps even with thread/post/user rating stuff too)
