Hey Guys!I'm transferring to NCSU in the fall and I am completely lost about the whole parking situation for off-campus students. I was able to get a permit for the EZ West Lot Zone (pretty far away) for $240 a year. I Realized how far this was from campus and wasnt sure if I should park there or not, although I was told I am lucky to get that lot. People have told me that if you park at a local shopping center and walk you will be towed or given a ticket, is this true? I'm an off-campus student and just need an in-expensive way to park (im brokee!!). Any information would be SO helpful, thanks a bunch!!!

West Lot is not off campus. Its right across the street from Fountain Dining hall. I transferred into NCSU as a sophomore (lived off campus) and parked there for a year. I had no problems. You would be wasting your time and money with something else in my opinion. I used to get to West Lot at 8am and it only took me 11 minutes to walk to Tompkins hall which is probably the longest possible walk you would ever have to make.

I actually requested the West lot junior and senior years since my major classes were in Weaver. It's not that bad of a walk to the rest of main campus...like ^ said, the worst is going to Tompkins, and that's only 10-15 minutes.

only downside...the spaces are small to accomodate more cars...and my poor car was beat all to hell from assholes slamming their doors into it.but as far as a long walk...nah. i could make it to tompkins in 15mins or less. or, if you're lucky...the bus will be there (and not be full)
