FALL APPROPRIATIONS: $45,000 for Organizations

The fall appropriations process is now underway for student organizations to request money from the Student Senate. Information regarding how to file, appropriations rules, and deadlines can be found at http://students.ncsu.edu/treasury/appropriations/.

Over $45,000 will be dished out for this fall semester. Please contact Treasurer Seneca Toms (sbt@ncsu.edu) or Appropriations Chair Tracy Hutcherson (tshutche@aol.com) with questions.

All requests must be filed online by October 5th at 5:00 PM. Applications submitted afterwards will not be accepted as the Student Senate is enforcing fair standards this session.

Three questions:

1) Will there be public information/Q&A sessions as there were last year?
*They were extremely helpful

2) What percentage will be given to groups that only the NCSU campus will ever know/hear about?
*This was brought up last year ... whether more money should be given to oncampus organizations or more to organizations that the public would see/know more about.

3) How will verification of expenses/revenue from sources be verified?
*Estimates are not the same as actual expenses/revenue.

black people make up 9.4% of the enrolled student population

so if they get more than $4213.20

im going to be pissed

Travis: There will be information sessions (they're both listed on the timeline in the packet). The other two questions are best addressed to Seneca (sbt@ncsu.edu).

I like how this money won't reach the student orgs till the end of november... that'll help student orgs plan events for this fall

^that is why you are supposed to request money for the fall in the spring, and request money for the spring in the fall. any worthy organization on this campus plans a bit ahead for this. its not a surprise when appropriations come out
