The bash of the summer is taking place right in the parking lot of Mission Valley on Saturday August 20th at 7:00. Tradition normally holds that students flock to Brent Rd. on the first weekend after school starts, but the authorities have quelled that party. With four bands, including Raleigh's own The Connells, this could line up to be the party spot of the weekend!
* 7 - 11pm (an 18 and over event)
$8 advance, $10 day of, $12 if you are over 18 and under 21
Yeah... that's nice. I hope they really are slack on the age thing, many freshmen aren't 18, thus it really defeats the purpose. Oh wait, no it doesn't... it's just a ploy to make money. That's why they charge students like me $12 instead of $8 because I will not be able to buy enough beer to line their wallet to monetary bliss.
Screw Mission Valley, I love Sammy's on Wed. every other week, but I'm not going to encourage anyone to go to something like this where students of every age can't get respect.
When you can hold a 4-year degree in your hand before you can legally hold a beer, something is wrong with the measuring stick.
Seriously though, I think it's a good idea in theory. But the prices are way too high. Considering that we have Alive after Five and that new concert series in Moore Square, which are both free and have better bands.
OR you could come to my Jello wrestelin party and challenge anyone you choose. Free admission an 5 dollars a cup if u wanna drink our stuff! PM for details!
