Dear Wolfpack Community,
According to staffers and members at the NC General Assembly, it appears the budget for this upcoming year will be completed within the next week at the conference committee level. There are several key issues that have the consequence of changing the financial and political landscape of our university. I hope you will research (1)tuition autonomy, (2)out-of-state scholarship changes, and (3)budget cuts so that you can contact your representatives on Jones Street.
I thought everyone might want to see this. This came over the SG Listserv today from Forrest. Thanks to everyone who helped out fighting this budget provision.

"Good News Everyone!
The provision in the NC Budget that would allow NCSU and UNC the ability to set their own tuition is gone. The budget is supposedly coming out of committee late today. This is a major win for us as students.
Thanks to everyone, especially our Student Senators and Gov. Relations, who called, wrote-in, visited and emailed. The petition last spring stirred up much discussion around campus as well. I saw countless emails from all of you and was happy to write and visit myself. Budget cuts were extremely minimal also.
Excellent job everyone! We will still have a big tuition fight this year, so please get ready.
