Student Government, along with the radio station WKNC, and many other student groups are hosting a get out the vote event this Sunday called Democracy Fest. It is being held on the lawn of the Alumni Building, near the bell tower from 12 till 4pm. There will be 6 live bands playing, and plenty of free food and drinks.
The one stop polling site at the Pullen Arts Center, which is right across the road, will be open all during that time. For those who might not know, there is no longer a polling site on campus, and the One Stop Voting is the most convienent way for any student registered to vote in any part of Wake County to vote the week before the election. This is a non-partisan event open to the public, and should be a great time.

Sounds like a good idea to get ppl registered. If so many groups are working together to get the ear of the student body(particularly the ones interested in politics) I hope the opportunity is used for more than background music.
Don't make it a "non-partisan event," make it a bi-partisan effort to discuss the issues people are voting on. Provide information about the canidates, provide opprotunities for discussion. With all the effort to make it very easy, entertaining, and convenient for people to vote it seems like some effort could go towards getting people informed.
The non-partison pushing for the uniformed to vote just seems like a waste of a chance to speak to students. But overall I applaud ppl for organizing this event.
