SightSpeed is a company founded by NC State alumnus Brad Treat ('94). They just released an upgrade to their award winning software for the PC and Mac and are offering it free to anyone with a confirmed ncsu.edu email address.
Normally a software subscription is $5/month, but Brad is offering it for free to the Wolfpack community in order to build up the user base and to get real-world feedback.
This isn't spyware or spamware or any of that sort of thing. The deal is legitimate, and the SightSpeed software really works well. It's like the free IM programs on steroids. Take it for a test drive and let them know what you think.

That happened to me the first time I registered.. You should get a confirmation email, click that link and it might take a day or so to change the status.
Sorry about the slow conversion. We have corrected the problem. Now, all validated ncsu.edu email accounts will convert instantly upon sign up from this link: http://www.sightspeed.com/ncstate
Enjoy! -Brad
