This Saturday the 24th the Wolfpack Student Initiative will be hosting a yard sale on Tucker Beach from 10am-5pm to raise money for students with unmet financial need. We really need people to donate items they don't want any more or won't need. Items like futons, carpets, lofts, furniture, clothes, anything you want to give would be great, and we can even come pick it up for you!!! Small monetary amounts may be available to donators but we are trying to put as much money as possible into the endowment before the year is over.
If you want to donate items please e-mail wsicomm@hotmail.com, pm me, or respond here!
The yard sale should be a ton of fun so come on out and support students!

The scholarship will be given to the students with the most unmet financial aid as determined by the office of financial aid after all other scholarships, loans, and grants go through. So basically, we don't have any control over it, sorry! But it does go to help the general body so you should still support us even if the scholarship won't necessarily go to you (but there's always a chance! ). Thanks!
Does the WSI have a federal tax ID number? Non-profit status? If so, you could do like good will and let donators set their own value to items donated (within reason, obviously). All they would need is a letter from you that acknowledges reciept and lists your Federal Tax ID Number. At least, I think. I'm sure there are business scholars on the site somewhere that could give a more accurate list of what would be needed. The tax write off would probably be more significant than whatever "small monetary amount" you might be able to offer.
Thanks for the suggestion, WSI does have a tax ID number because we are a non-profit charitable 501c3 organization. Any donations should qualify for a write-off but I'm not sure the exact logistics of it. Anyone know?
sounds great techfire! thanks! i've also gotten e-mails about some futons and lofts so if you are looking to buy we're likely to have the best prices!!!
Graywolf, The most simple way is to go by Goodwill and get one of their forms or talk to someone there about their process. The alumni office here at State could probably give you all the information you need regarding a write off, as well. I think all that is required is a form with your organization name, FTID#, a blank for donator's name, a blank for donated item(s), a blank for value of item(s) donated, and a signature from an authorized representative of your organization. The donator generally determines the value of his/her donation.
