Friday Classes Cancelled, Adverse Weather Policy in Effect
February 27, 2004
Classes at NC State University have been cancelled for Friday, Feb. 27. The university will operate under the Adverse Weather Policy.
Provost James L. Oblinger, in consultation with Chancellor Marye Anne Fox and Vice Chancellor of Finance and Business George Worsley, announced the decision after university officials reviewed the latest National Weather Service forecast.
Under the Adverse Weather Policy, faculty and staff are responsible for their regularly assigned duties and must make up time missed. Essential employees should report for work. Employees in non-critical roles must make their own decisions about reporting to work, based on personal safety.
Additional announcements concerning class and work schedules will be posted, as necessary, on the NC State homepage, on the emergency call-in line at 513-8888, and announced via local media outlets. The Adverse Weather Policy is online at www.ncsu.edu/policies/campus_environ/health_safety_welfare/POL1115.00.1.php.
