Anyone who has ever been interested in being an on-air DJ at WKNC but has never applied (or, has applied but didn't start training) is invited to take part in WKNC Bootcamp. Why the hell would we call DJ training bootcamp? Because we're cramming what usually takes place once or twice a week for 6-8 weeks into 2 5-hour days of training madness. We will train you on everything from FCC rules to using our computer system (AudioVault) and beyond, and at the end you may be eligible to start a shift at WKNC almost immediately (read on!).
All majors are welcome and no experience is required, but you will have to bring your own headphones both days. You must come to both days of Bootcamp. Training will take place January 7th and 8th from 10am until 3pm (or 4pm, if need be), and we will provide lunch both days.
If you are interested in becoming part of WKNC, it is appreciated if you confirm attendance with me at gm@wknc.org so we can get an estimated headcount for training. Completing training will be counted as equivalent to doing regular DJ training, broadcasting news reports once or more a week for 6-8 weeks.
Those who attend Bootcamp will still have to pass the mutliple choice written exam. All people who pass the written exam and have fulfilled basic training requirements will be eligible for shifts for the Spring semester. For more info, go to www.wknc.org

It doesn't cost anything!! You just need to have your own headphones, come for the whole time, be a student, and pay attention so you can learn a lot of technical stuff.
