Our wonderful School Tool has been updated with the classes for Spring 2003. For those of you that are new, School Tool is a system designed to help NC State students choose the best classes and track their academic progress. School Tool contains over 2000 instructor ratings, over 12,000 grade distribution reports, and thousands of other useful statistics. All information is grouped and categorized for easy browsing! To start with School Tool, go to our Mass Add Class page to upload your schedule. Once uploaded, the system will even rank your schedule in relation to other users!
For those of you that took summer classes, remember to rate your classes!
Along with grabbing the Spring 2003 listings, we also revamped our robot to more intelligently correct the misspellings and errors in the TRACS listings. This should lead to more frequent updates in the future.

the rankings are generated automatically. I can't remember exactly how they work, but do a search and it is explained somewhere. It's something like the percentage of people in the school who have a harder schedule than you (according to average gpa of all your classes). then the rankings for each class is the same, except the percentage of classes that have a lower GPA than that one. Like, if you are in a class that gives 100% A's, then the ranking is probably around 100%. If you're in a class that gives only C's, D's, and F's, the ranking would be really low because it is assumed that there are not many harder classes than that.
Or it may be all reversed, like the percentage that have easier classes, or something. or i may be completely off base
I love school tool. It REALLY helped me out last semester. I totally avoiding some awful classes and got in all the great ones. It can really help out your GPA if you play it right!
