i'm there----dude you should be there at 6am drinking----and since the stadium is kinda downtown the hotels are super duper expensive---you can pay 50 bucks extra to be 10 miles closer if you like
My mom lives pretty close to Disney, so I'm familiar with the area of this hotel.
Its very close to the Disney parks, and within walking distance of a place called downtown disney, where theres alot of shops and restraunts and stuff. theres also a House of Blues and the Cirque De Sole (however you spell it), if you're into that. Right next to that is Pleasure Island, a big place full of clubs, bars, etc. there's buses and stuff that go to the parks if anyone wants to do that.
the stadium is a little farther away, but its easy to get to (a few miles down I-4, a few more down East-West Expressway, no big deal).
All in all, it seems like a good place to stay, and you guys should have fun. I jsut wish I could go
what nights are you guys staying? Me and my room mate are thinking of staying both the 19th and the 20th. Lemme know, cause there could be a killer party the day before or after!
I'm going to con my parents into staying there, so keep it down you crazy kids . I'm going to try to get them to the bars and see if the old man can still throw 'em back.
We're going down the 19th, so everyone show up so we can take over the hotel and have a hell of a party the night before! A shuttle would be a good idea, the city has one but it only picks people up from 22 miles away from the hotel. We could submit some requests to transportation companies http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_S__States/Florida/Cities/Orlando/Business_and_Shopping/Shopping_and_Services/Transportation/ and see what we get...Anyone know how much a charter bus or two down there might cost? I'm thinkin' party bus...
id rather just tailgate, alcohol was illegal in the parking lot of the micron but honestly who is gonna enforce that? riiiiiight....thats what REd Cups are for!
I went over to the Stroud Center to pay for my ticket in cash, and the guy told me it was $25. I told him I thought it was 20, but he said something about a processing fee. Just to give you a heads-up
Callin first thing in the morning to book a room for me and my boys! We'll be makin the trip after graduation so it'll be late on the 19th but we'll be ready to party!
Hello all!!! Jim Nickles here, sales manager for the Ramada Plaza Hotel & Inn Gateway (the largest Ramada in the Southeast). Just wanted to thank you for the business and to clear up a few things that were posted regarding our property. There are still rooms available at our discount rate of $35 Inn (exterior corridor entry and our $59 high rise Plaza rooms. Ask for code GOTK when making your reservation. Prices for that time period are usually $79 Inn and $99 Plaza.
Unfortunately, we are NOT walking distance to Pleasure Island, although we are only one mile to Disney but on the Kissimmee side, not Lake Buena Vista. It only takes a few minutes to get there by car if you are interested in going. On the positive side, we do offer a FREE scheduled shuttle to the Disney parks, Universal Studios, and Sea World daily. We also have mini-refrigerators in all our rooms for all the "soda" i'm sure you will be drinking. P.S. also have happy hour in our lounge from 5-7 and 11 to close $1.75 drafts, well, and wine as well as karaoke Wed thru Sat.
If you Guys And Gals are interested in a shuttle from our property to the game, I can get a quote for you if we get enough people to use it, what do you think?
Last thing, double check that rate at the Days Inn Maingate, it may be a per person rate, the hotel would most likely loose $ at that rate. Our property is three diamond AAA rated compared to the Days Inns 2 diamond rating. Our property will give you the biggest bang for your buck.
Feel free to e-mail me direct at jim.nickles@crestlinehotels.com with your questions/suggestions.
Thanks again, and in regard to the game, let me quote maverick in saying "damn, i'm f--king there!"
Good advertising Bud!! Covering your bases, i like that. About the Days Inn rate, I just called and it is true. Get two double beds and free service to the attractions. Some special on travelzoo.com. You are closer however
You asked for it, you got it (if you want it) Ok, as of 11:00 a.m. on Dec 10, you guys have booked 54 rooms with 144 fans for the Bowl. I got a price from mears transportation for a full size bus, with bathroom, for nine hours which holds 47 people for $693 ($15.00 each person). A $250 deposit is required if you plan to drink on the bus. I will reserve 2 for now just in case but I need someone up there to be my contact person to give me a head count if this is something you want to do. Give me (Jim) a call at 1-800-327-9170 ext. 662.
Also, the Ramada will be overing a 3 hours open bar (beer and well) for $20 a head from 6-9 p.m. on December 19.
