Homecoming Hype!

Ever been to a real Homecoming? With a weeklong calendar of events and a parade? Well, this year, it's coming to NC State. "Homecoming Hype 2001" will begin to shape the tradition students have been trying to build for years--a real Homecoming. But in order to get things going, we need you, the students, to be involved. Here's just some of the events planned for Homecoming:

Wear Red, Get Fed- It's simple…free food just for sporting that Wolfpack red.

Banner Contest- Student organizations can get involved by creating fun banners to show their Pack Pride.

Homecoming HyParade- It's not your traditional parade--it's the Hyparade. Organizations can strut their stuff down Cates Avenue in the parade and pick up some cash, if they are the most spirited.

Hype Rally - It's beyond your regular pep rally--it's the hype rally. The Cheerleaders and the Dance Team will be there doing their thang and we'll "proudly" unveil the newly formed Male Dance Team. It's gonna be hot!

Ultimate All Night Bash - This event will be pumping all night long. Join UAB for the biggest, hypest party on campus - truly a tradition of NC State.

By the way, the Ultimate Allnight Bash (no - not what uab stands for), which apparently is also being referred to as "UAB Up All Night" cost $2 in advance for state students - $3 for others.

I have not heard final confirmation, but I was hearing $3 at door for state students.

I think it does start at 9 (that's what the posters say) despite what it says on http://uab.ncsu.edu/events/fall00/homecoming/.

(If you were looking for what happened last year, apparently that page has been renamed, it's at:

I remember looking for volunteers last year and the year before...(wolfaides/senate/irc represented too).

How come none of this info is on the calendar though?

So, let's see, I have to go buy a stupidly expensive red tshirt from the bookstore just to get some food... no thanks. Not everybody has red outerwear, you know. I got some red briefs, can I come in them?
