Raleigh City elections are held today, Tuesday October 9!
Everyone has 4 votes for City Council: Mayor, 2 At-large seats, and 1 District seat. Now's the opportunity to show that student voices count!
Regardless of your politics or who you support, please take a couple minutes from your day and go to the polls. If you registered on campus your voting site will be the bottom floor of Witherspoon Student Center; for everyone else, your site is on the right-hand side of your voter registration cards.

Thomas Croom was just on WKNC. not many people are showing up to vote, so students really could decide the election for all four positions being voted on today. please go out and vote, regardless of your candidate. make your voice heard, since i cannot today because unfortunately i am not registered in wake county. also, if you aren't registered to vote you can register today. although you won't be able to participate in today's elections, you will be eligible to vote in the run-off elections. vote!!!
You have failed. All of you who are students that did not vote, I hope you are happy. Two more years of that jackass, Benson Kirkman. Because you did not vote, you have chosen to let yourself be screwed over by the City Council. I hope you are happy. Be proud. You who did not vote, I hope you know this makes you pro-Kirkman.
Although student turnout was ridiculously low, there's still an opportunity to limit the damage the City Council can do.
Both the mayor and at-large races will be going to a runoff, giving you 30 more days to get acquainted with the candidates and another opportunity to vote en masse.
