Borrowing a page from our friends at Ars Technica, we have decided to implement a voluntary subscription plan for Premium Subscriptions. We have considered a voluntary donation plan but maintaining an impartial atmosphere with relation to user benefits would be very difficult. We feel that our subscription plan designed with explicity defined perks is most beneficial to everyone. The subscription includes :
- A custom status name of your choosing. - HTML posting access in all message areas (message board, story comments, calendar comments, private mail). This means big fonts and COLORS!
We would like to emphasize that the motivation for subscribing should be centered around supporting The Wolf Web, not just the aquisition of the special benefits. We take pride in providing an open forum for students to talk without the influence of authority or special interest. If we can support ourselves then we can keep it that way! Sign up or find more info here!

"Abuse of HTML is prohibited. Subscribed users are still obligated to abide by the Posting Guidelines. "
-from the signup page
We will not tolerate abuse...appropriate measures will be taken against subscribers who abuse HTML, or do not follow the posting guidelines for that matter. They will not receive any special consideration with regards to moderation.
is it possible to get a special status name without paying $$? Between books and food and other crap i dont have any dough to spare...and on top of that i applied for a special status a MONTH AGO!!
jsquared: i have to pay for books and food and other crap too. that is why I started the subscriptions! trust me, it costs a LOT more for me than it does you
crazyj, can i just give you $25 cash in person? i have always been leery of paying things online (I had my debit card number from my old bank stolen twice within a year...). i am in summer school here (NCSU) so i could give u the $ anytime really...
it would be SOOO much easier for us to exclusively accept payments through PayPal. they are very reliable and they keep track of all of our records (for tax purposes ). all accounts are insured up to $100,000 against unauthorized transactions. these guys are good. they won't fuck up. they have over a million CC numbers in their database. if they WOULD fuck up, it would be major news. go here for more info on their security policies.
see you dont really have to learn html in full, just know some of the tags. see that dave ragget site above, it's pretty detailed for the stuff you'd need
