Football season and tailgating are coming soon!

Football season is coming soon!! The 2001 NCSU Football season begins in August, with the annual “Meet the Pack Day” Head Coach Chuck Amato is ready to kick some major ass in his second season. Senior linebacker Levar Fisher, a Preseason All-American selection, will anchor the Pack defense. Second year phenom Phillip Rivers will lead the high octane offense including running back Ray Robinson, and tight end Willie Wright.

The first home game of the year will be Thursday September 6, 2001. This summers renovations to Carter Finley stadium will “hopefully” get completed in time. They include an enclosure of the former grassy hill being replaced by seats. The major addition this past off-season is a state of the art scoreboard. You can check out a live picture of the construction progress online.

Get ready to tailgate, drink a hell of a lot, and cheer on the Wolf Pack football team this September. Go Pack!

The first game is actually on a thursday. The date in the article is correct, just the day of the week is wrong.

Tony Haynes always does that crap to me...

Everytime I read one of his good articles I'll get the hair raising on the back of my neck and I can remember my first game in Reynold's with my sister when she was a student here back about 10 years ago... And of course my first game as at State student walking into Carter-Finley... So many people wearing red, just amazed by the sheer numbers of people...

And of course, FSU in 98 and even last year when the stadium was just jammed pack... I can't wait for football season this year!

btw, if anybody gets some extra student tickets on the lower bowl, i'd be happy to take them I've got my Young Alumni club seats coming in, but still would love to catch a game back in the student section if I can... Its going to be one heck of a year, its great to see so many people pumped up about football!
