Well apparently the Grinch, or shall we call him a saint in this case, got to work a little early this year. Over the Thanksgiving Holidays these model citizens creeped in through a tunnel doorway that was jammed open, and stole a few items. A National Championship banner, some pictures, and Antawn Jamison's retired jersey (soon to be on Ebay). I'm sure choosing Jamison's jersey was a tough choice being that they retire every player's jersey in Chapel Hill, and there are so many to choose from! To top this all off, the Grinch apparently wanted to show his feelings for UNC-CH and left "feces in the middle of the court."
Just a note: Carolina doesn't retire jerseys on a whim. For a player's jersey to be retired, the player must be named ACC Player of the Year or be selected to the All-American team. If Carolina has a lot of retired jerseys hanging from the rafters, it's because they've had so many good players come through the university. And I dare someone to argue that point.
ERIC MONTROSS, one of the best players in the country at that time???? What???!!!! I think you love of UNC runs a bit on the extreme side. I remember a funny article from the "Daliy Tarhole" a duke univ publication comparing Montross to a large blank page they placed in the issue as i remember it said, they are both white, take up a lot of space and serve no purpose.
Let's examine the first and last verses of the song a little more closely. . .
In the first verse, we find out who the Grinch is. . .
"You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch. You really are a heel . . ."
And in the final verse, we find out all about this weekend's foul (his word, not mine) escapades. Replace the word "soul" with the word "court" and this could have come straight off the AP Wire! See for yourself. . .
"You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch, You're a nasty wasty skunk, Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your court is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch, The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote, 'Stink, stank, stunk!'"
