Wednesday, May 2nd has been confirmed as the day for the student and faculty march on the General Assembly to protest the proposed budget cuts. A 7% budget cut has been proposed across the entire UNC system. This is even far bigger than the tuition increase (which is coming up again in the fall). WE need to mobilize and show the General Assembly that we cannot sacrifice higher education. This is in my opinion the most important issue to affect students in the past 10 or 20 years. Have your parents write their representatives and tell all their friends to do the same. Contact your representative. GET ANGRY! This is VERY important, I know it is a difficult time. However, their is something wrong with us students if we do not get upset and act on this! I urge you all to join in on the March on the Capital on Wednesday, May 2nd. Tell your professors about it, and encourage them to participate (they may even cancel class). I hope to see you all there, more info to come later...

There are other things to get angry about. In addition to taking our money, they are trying to take away the essence of college life itself. I suppose that this is their way of stripping us of our spirit. I hope the days are numbered until the suppression of student's rights is a thing of the past.
As much as I'd love to be a senator, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am not one, just to clear up any confusion (I know how you thought I was though). The website is correct though and I hope everyone will go to it and e-mail me with any suggestions. Thanks Lucy Tatum (That redhead who sits in the back of the room at Senate meetings)

we could probably arrange to get this email out to all of TWW without too much of a problem. I'll talk with jake and see how feasible this is and if we want to set prescedence for this sort of thing. But my question is....what is the legistlature going to do if their session ENDS TODAY! Hasn't anybody thought of this?? This march seems to be kind of a waste if nobody is going to be at the damn Capitol in the first place....damn frustrating I say.
It'd be even cooler if I could run to the capitol... Just think, it's like a mini-marathon to the capitol building, led by me. I could wear a BrentRoad.com T-shirt on the way there...eh? eh?
