It's that time of year again. Time for costumed shenanigans to line Hillsborough St this coming weekend.
Time: Saturday, October 30 at 6:00pm - October 31 at 2:00am (festivities are likely to be all weekend long, but a number of businesses have events planned specifically for Saturday night to take part in the spirit of this tradition).
Location: Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC
In the mean time, have you thought about your costume yet? To see what other people have in mind, check out this thread.
Now that Hillsborough St has been revitalized, join in the spirit of the Barrel Monster, and get to haunting Hillsborough St! For more information see the facebook group.

^Some people are planning on going on all 3 nights, Fri, Sat, and Sun, but most ppl seemed to agree that Sat was the big day (after reviewing & participating in a number of threads & discussions) .
The official facebook group says Sat, and for the past several years facebook groups have been a significant factor in promoting this event. And there are a few specific events on Hillsborough on Sat:
Quote :
"Saturday, October 30 at 8:00pm
SHAKEDOWN STREET WILL BE HOSTING THE CD RELEASE PARTY & COSTUME PARTY FOR WIDE EYED MISCHIEF (FORMERLY THE LOOSE SCREWS)"
Quote :
"3 bands at sadlack's on oct. 30th. a johnny cash tribute (johnny folsom 4), a neil young tribute (young neil & the damage done) and a new band that plays the songs of nick lowe and dave edmunds (mockpile). come by at 7pm. music's till 10pm."
Nothing stopping anyone from going any time of the weekend though. Next year Halloween is going to fall during the week, so having a Sat tradition will make it easier then too.
"Haunted Hillsborough Hike Sat, October 30, 9:00pm – Sun, October 31, 2:30am"
Just thought I'd share since there was one more source talking about when it would start on Sat. I think its a safe bet that things will be in full swing by 8 or 9pm, even if it gets started a little earlier.
