None of the other ad.s do, but that one slows my comp and delays my typing. It's extremely annoying. Perhaps the file size is too large? Has anyone else noticed it? Can something be done about it? I'm to the point where I'm refreshing until I don't have that ad.Here's the advertisement I'm talking about:[Edited on March 4, 2003 at 10:36 AM. Reason : added the ad.]

Wow, this is the first thread about that ad.

go premium.
3/4/2003 10:47:04 AM
I really don't think that we should have to go premium just because of a resource eating ad...that is one screwed up way of forcing premium membership onto membersoh yeah that ad eats up about 30% of my processor[Edited on March 4, 2003 at 5:05 PM. Reason : just watched it in task manager]

^don't use the site then..
3/4/2003 6:10:56 PM
ok so the site is turning from a free message board for students to a pay site just so you can get into Premium Palace Craphole and remove ads...I don't think I need this place that much
3/4/2003 6:23:39 PM
you think its free to run this site, quit your bitching.
3/4/2003 6:38:46 PM
Who cares about the benefits, if you really enjoy the site then donate your money to help them out. If they get enough money maybe they will stop having ads altogether.

I support the war on WolfcRaq
3/4/2003 7:52:44 PM
has anyone actually contacted Wolfcreek to let them know that thier ad would be more well recieved were it simpler? Honestly, how are they going to know to fix it if no one tells them?
3/4/2003 9:17:50 PM
Uh, the last I checked, it's not their site. Remember?
3/5/2003 10:19:08 AM
what can Jake or Joe do about it? "Hey please change your ad that you paid for so that these kids don't cry?" No. If WolfCreek, however, knows that their ad is not having the impact they want it to, they will be inclined to change it.

I'd always seen that there were guidelines in making advertisements for a site, for the site and the advertiser's sake. I made this thread so the administrators could know that that advertisement is annoying and then maybe they'd like to create guidelines for future advertisers.

does it realy slow you guys's computers down that much?? i don't notice it affecting my slow ass one all that much..
3/5/2003 5:54:31 PM
thats a point i hadn't thought of sarah.
3/5/2003 5:58:32 PM
It doesn't slow down my regular computer, but it grinds my laptop to a screeching halt for some reason. It's a 1.6 Ghz processor so I wouldn't think an image should be able to kill it like that, but every time I see that ad, the lag is insane.

I'm with him^....on all the unity computers it takes forever just for the page to load and then to get off of that page. I've also noticed problems with my PIII 550 mhz laptop. I never really have problems on my main computer but thats cuz I have plenty of power with it
