A lot of times, when I click the quote button, it will insert the [ quote ] chars but then my cursor will be placed immediately preceeding the '[' char. Why is this?

and also, why does whatever you click on (quote, link, bold, smileys...) always attach at the end of all the text in your thread, no matter where the cursor is?

a lot of times, you compose a reply, and then want to insert an image, or some text editing, or maybe a smiley in the middle of what you have composed so far, so you click there, and then press the appropriate button, but the result is always applied at the end.

that's pretty annoying, because then you have to type out the crazycode yourself.

Or you could just put in the quote or pic at the end like it does and cut and paste it earlier in the text box. I am pretty certain it is freaking hard to detect where you cursor is in the text box....

I believe the problem is that the buttons work with javascript and we couldn't figure how to access the cursor position from when the button is clicked in order to insert the crazycode at the appropriate position.
