Lawsuits are wrong

murder is righteous. the legal system is immoral.

In my book, Carrboro might as well be Chapel Hill, which means they never should have had power in the first place. And have you read what the city is claiming? They want money because of the climate change boogeyman. This is nothing but an egregious money grab. Following their logic, all of western NC should sue Duke Energy for the hurricane. The little guy here is quite delusional. If they win, Duke will just jack up prices for the rest of us to make up for it.

Carrboro rules, and I don’t think the people who live there deserve to freeze to death
12/5/2024 5:35:53 PM
Seems like they are aiming for something similar to the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement

^^i don't think you understand what is going on]
12/5/2024 6:25:46 PM
pretty sure I do
12/5/2024 6:26:36 PM
So you think one of the possible outcomes of this is duke cutting off power to private citizens?
12/5/2024 6:35:35 PM
noI was responding to the OP saying that power should be cut off to Carrboro because of this lawsuit
12/5/2024 6:37:17 PM
idk, duke might need to be cautious and cease services pending litigation.

If Duke cut services to the rest of town, I'm sure Piedmont Electric would be glad to take over. Thankfully I've only had PEMC since I've lived here for a decade and a half now, but does kind of suck (and a bit ironic) to live and work in the shadow of a Duke coal plant right on the border of town that I drive by on the way to work.

I mean Piedmont EMC likely buys most/all their power from Duke, so you're still funding them.]
12/8/2024 2:49:17 PM
^No shit, but in this thought experiment if Duke cut the town off they couldn't also tell Piedmont who they can and cannot resell their power to.
