The date of the one day for 2022 is today, Wednesday 12/28.

This is for the downloadable version, not the online version. TurboTax Deluxe is typically all you need, and the downloadable version of Deluxe has more forms and features than the online version.

Historically, this one-day sale during the week between Christmas and New Year represents the best available pricing all year. You would likely be purchasing for the 2022 tax year, both federal and state. It includes 5 federal tax e-files, and one state of software. Unfortunately they will make you pay extra for additional states and for state e-filing when you actually file if you require or select these options. The purchase is for a bundle which includes a $10.00 physical Amazon gift card that will be mailed to you, so make sure there you use an address where you can receive mail. This gift card arrangement is strange, but I think it is the only way for them to sell at the low price and still meet the requirements imposed by Intuit. The Amazon deal has been as late as 12/29 in the recent past, so we'll see. There are no guarantees that they repeat the patterns of previous years.

Regarding stacking of discounts and affiliate links, let's take a look, using my Chase offer as an example. Specific wording is below:

The Chase affiliate portal is for saving an additional 10% IF you don't have a better portal. Fidelity is offering 25%, and almost everyone can get 20% from somewhere. You can't use multiple portals, so just use whichever one gives the best discount. The rebate is independent and just looks for a TurboTax-coded charge from Intuit.

When they advertise the offer as Online Only, it just means you can't buy TurboTax products in a physical retail store and expect to get the rebate.

If you notice, the information about the affiliate portal follows the introductory phrase of "Plus", separating it as a secondary offer. Pay attention to the asterisk placement. It follows the statement about saving an additional 10%. THAT is the part where the affiliate site must be used, but it's not a good deal compared to what else is out there.

I have used these Chase offers successfully every year for several consecutive years by purchasing the software on Amazon and then applying the rebate to purchases made within the downloaded software at filing time -- either for state filing fees or the purchase of another state. The offered rebates have always applied successfully without any use of the Chase affiliate site. The wording has always been the same. However, they have continued to increase the spending requirements directly with TurboTax to trigger the rebate such that filing fees would not be enough to trigger it this year. Buying software direct from Intuit would do the trick, and might be the better option, especially if Amazon doesn't run the promo soon.

In short, you CAN stack the discounts as originally proposed. If I don't buy from Amazon, I'd personally access through the Fidelity portal to save 25% off listed price and then get a $20 statement credit by still spending more than $39 on TurboTax with Intuit.

I went ahead and bought TurboTax direct from Intuit yesterday using a combination of offers. 25% off pricing using the Fidelity portal I can access because I rolled over an HSA late last year, and then a $20 rebate from my Chase credit card for spending over $39. This gets the effective price of TurboTax Deluxe download version down to $32.50 for me, actually better than Amazon even in previous years. If you don't have access to Fidelity, my recommendation is to either wait for a better than current price on Amazon, or wait to see if any service providers offer you a referral portal with a discount (many do, and usually 20% off is pretty easy to come by). In the future, maybe it will be safer to purchase during Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals if relatively comparable. Can also use CamelCamelCamel to set up price alerts:
