Hockey is fine to watch on TV (especially since the advent of HDTV.) I actually enjoy it more on TV than in person.

Soccer is incredibly boring to watch to me both in person and on TV because most of the game is 16+ guys standing/walking around, 2 guys jogging and maybe 2 guys running for 5 seconds then more standing.

Soccer builds up the pressure
play after play you get close but you don't get that release and then when the goal does come it feels crazy

what I find to be a hell of an annoyance is all the bitching that players do these days to exploit fouls by falling on the ground like they're basketball players. And cause of some players doing it, other players end up doing it too cause they think they won't get a foul if they don't overreact and fall down

street soccer is very fun though cause people aren't bitches and you happily take heavy shoulder pushes and all and get back up like a man

The field is huge, and there's a lot that the ref can't see, especially when the refs view is often obstructed or the players have their backs to the ref. Sometimes they have to exaggerate to get the ref's attention, even when it's a totally obvious foul on a replay. Of course, some of them take it entirely too far.

Yeah but in football if you fake an injury they stop play and you're forced to come off the field for a play. There is no real repercussion for doing the same on soccer. If they made embellishment a cardable offense it would be gone in a hurry but they never will.
