Steam tunnels...man, I had forgotten about those. Been almost 20 years for me, too. If you find the giant pile of NRA trophies that's down there for some reason, take a shot of that.

Otherwise, I'd be interested in anything from near Syme or Bagwell - really any of the dorms on East Campus. I've been to most of my other haunts in the past few years, but not out that way.

Broughton Hall! Pretty much lived there during senior design back in 2006-2007. Aero engineering has moved to centennial campus now but Broughton will always be the building I spent the most time in on campus.

I can attest to one thing though. The way the bathrooms are in there, I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't been renovated since your time here.

It’s only a matter of time til that building probably meets its maker.

I’m recent years, it’s served a bunch as flex space. The music department was even in there for a while when Talley was getting remodeled.

Anyone who hasn’t seen Centennial in the past 5-10 years would be in for a shock.

Actually, Campus in general looks vastly different than it did 10 years ago. Free Expression Tunnel/Wolf Plaza/Talley Union/Reynolds has really moved the heart of the action away from the Brickyard in a staggeringly impressive way.

Yeah, the most action I've seen in the brickyard so far is a preacher chanting, not much else.
The only tabling I've seen in the brickyard is the student Muslim group, nothing else.
So basically religion lmao

Stafford Commons / WolfPlaza is where a lot of general events and stuff go on, like the "club tabling fair" kind of thing they had, or whatever fundraising is going on, etc.

I've gone into Centennial once via the wolfline bus system, and it feels like you're going into Mount Olympus with all these new age buildings on vast landscapes

Lol I work with the Architect’s office pretty regularly in my role as Creative Director at NC State University Communications. I am currently serving on the connectivity committee of the University Master Plan (my second time working on a Master Plan committee during my career here.)

That first pic (with the Broughton Drive street sign) doesn't actually look like Broughton Hall? Is that Burlington? Looks like DH Hill behind it in the background. Those tables outside of the Broughton Hall sign in the 3rd pic are new. Engineering students didn't have time for social gatherings like that. The other pics look the same.

If you go back, check the back door in the loading dock on the south side of the building. They often left that back door unlocked on the weekends. Not sure if it was on purpose because they knew the senior design students often had to be there, or if it was because they kept forgetting about it.

Haha yeah, Broughton is now a mix of math/animal science? or something and apparently the music department has some role there in management.

What I really like about Broughton and Riddick is the style of the front side of the buildings with the murals and the fonts used, seems cool to me. But I think they'll be renovated soon, like Mann Hall is being right now.

Good thread, nice offer! I'm curious about one thing, but don't go out of your way for it.

If you walk from Talley up Dunn to Pullen, check the cement along the way. I can't remember if it's on the traffic island in front of Reynolds or maybe along the sidewalk by its parking lot, but anyway if you look around on the ground, you'll find my favorite bit of art on campus: DEATH BONE.



I'm really curious whether it's still there, but I just can't remember exactly where it lies.
