I feel like emancipated is a poor word choice for this comparison.

it kinda sux for me bc I get off Mondays normally instead of Saturdays, so when it's a federal holiday I'm supposed to get Saturday off, but I'm not able to because of short staffing

at least I get holiday pay I guess on top of regular pay but I'd rather just not work for 3 days
