Heard McCrory had a strong ad calling Trumps chosen candidate a Putin stooge. Do dems have a formidable candidate? That Cal guy really fucked up in 2020Any other races you are following?
3/15/2022 9:02:53 PM
Cheri Beasley is all but guaranteed the Dem spot, especially since Jeff Jackson bowed out
3/15/2022 9:08:05 PM
Bump for primary results.Tell me about the races you are following (including out of state, I’m interested).I think I mentioned it in another thread, but Im hoping for an NC-11 runoff between Cawthorn and Edwards. Early results are showing Edwards won outright. So MadCaw is eliminated, I guess being ambiguously gay was just a step too far for the local trumpers.[Edited on May 17, 2022 at 8:43 PM. Reason : Chuck Edwards’ McDonalds in Hendersonville gave me diarrhea ]

I'm interested in pretty much what you listed, also curious how the GOP Senate primary in PA will go. With enough Trump backed people losing, I think DeSantis essentially drops the act and confirms he's running.
5/17/2022 9:15:56 PM
Ugh, Budd won. I am NOT a Budd fan.
5/17/2022 9:42:44 PM
Looks like some pundits (Cook Political Report) are moving races towards the Dems with some of the republican wins. PA Governor race as an example
5/17/2022 9:46:44 PM
Happy Charles booker is the candidate in Kentucky but Paul will prob cream him like McConnell did McGrath unfortunately.
5/17/2022 9:48:31 PM
Won't stop the Dems from pouring ungodly amounts of money into unwinnable races
5/17/2022 9:50:04 PM
5/17/2022 9:56:58 PM
^^hey we agree! Was not thrilled with the 41 mil in Kentucky two years ago
5/17/2022 10:01:49 PM
Hopefully Yale will claim Bo Hines so State doesnt
5/17/2022 10:03:33 PM
^^ 90 million
5/17/2022 10:08:09 PM
RIP Cawthorn. The GOP can excuse being a nazi loving racist, but humping your male cousin's face is where they draw the line
5/17/2022 10:12:30 PM
Prob not great that Conor Lamb gave up incumbency in a super tight district just to lose the senate primary. Is that district being reworked at all?
5/17/2022 11:06:33 PM
Looks like Dr. Snake Oil remains up slightly in a squeaker in PA. Total joke.
5/18/2022 8:05:14 AM
Is there polling on who would be the better candidate for Fetterman to go against?
5/18/2022 8:19:36 AM
I've informally polled the one person I know who lives in PA, and he is hoping for an Oz / Fetterman matchup because he thinks Oz will have significantly less appeal to moderate swing voters.
5/18/2022 9:04:08 AM
Will racist Republicans show up for Oz or do they consider him 'one of the good ones'
5/18/2022 9:12:01 AM
I admittedly did not vote, as I really haven't taken the time to research the different candidates.I assume lots of people are in the same boat, and that's often why we have bad/extreme candidates winning the primaries (because the ideologues, hacks and extremists are the majority of the people who vote in the primaries)

It's very hard to argue by using facts with "these people". I've tried at work.]

https://prospect.org/politics/aipac-has-taken-over-the-democratic-primary-process/Seems like Pelosi’s PAC could be focused on this instead of the very dangerous gamble of funding far right candidates
7/15/2022 1:12:47 AM
Always depressing (but not surprising) in my area...
8/24/2022 9:07:05 AM
So give it to me straight, people still in NC: does Beasley have a chance?
8/31/2022 4:22:23 PM
She definitely has a chance. The reports of independents breaking toward Dems in other states’ recent elections has me hopeful. A big turnout is the only thing that is going to get her a win though, much bigger than most midterms in NC.I’ve liked her 2 punch combo in this campaign. In my texts she has been direct that she wouldn’t be another Sinema or Manchin. No one thinks she’s going to join the progressive caucus anytime soon, but she would be a reliable vote in key Dem priorities. My YouTube and other streaming services ads have invoked her pragmatic judgeship on issues that everyone supports like human trafficking. I gave her another $50 today.
8/31/2022 5:32:04 PM
I wish whoever is running her ad campaign would do something to differentiate the first name of the people featured in her ads from where they’re fromlotta John Fayetteville’s and Jane Roxboro’s
8/31/2022 5:49:07 PM
Don't forget Mark Raleigh!
8/31/2022 6:49:44 PM
Sarah Palin lost to Democrat in special election with ranked choice voting.
8/31/2022 9:41:11 PM
hell yes. That's at least one little punch in the mouth to Team MAGA, and one less complete dipshit for the ages in Congress.I don't know a lot about the other candidate, but the little bit I heard about her sounded favorable.
8/31/2022 9:53:43 PM
DeSantis put an October gas tax holiday which means two weeks before the midterms gas prices are gonna shoot up, which a big chunk of people will certainly blame on Biden/dems.

Beasley/Budd debate is tonight, 8pm, can watch at https://spectrumlocalnews.com/liveI'm obviously voting for Beasley, but her campaign has been so predictably underwhelming and has been for almost 2 years. i'm not convinced she's gonna pull it off
10/7/2022 9:44:49 AM
Sooooo not a Ted Budd fan
10/7/2022 9:59:08 AM
Beasley has almost zero media presence. Jackson would have been better.
10/7/2022 10:58:41 AM
By media presence, do you mean commercials?
10/7/2022 6:57:17 PM
I do. TV, internet and radio commercials. It’s dumb. But that’s where we are at.

this is gonna be so badi believe you're going to see cities and urban areas start to go all-in on ways they can shield themselves from upcoming state and federal legislation on the same basis that states claim "states rights"
10/21/2022 12:39:50 PM
Viva la revolución!
10/21/2022 12:49:00 PM
I wish that living in rural areas and not being surrounded by ignorant and hateful hicks weren't mutually exclusive. I don't want to live in a city.
10/21/2022 1:58:54 PM
I consider hicks a southern thing…just move to a rural town somewhere else
10/22/2022 4:47:44 AM
Oh no there are plenty in the North too. The only thing missing there is the Confederate flag (and even that makes an occasional appearance).
10/22/2022 5:33:52 AM
^^Yeah, check out Michigan.
10/22/2022 9:08:11 AM
Marjorie Taylor Greene posted on Truth Social that she stopped at the Wilder monument in Georgia to "honor Confederate soldiers". The problem? It is a monument to Union soldiers. She included photos of her at the site.
10/22/2022 9:41:45 AM
I'm sure she knew that and how "you people" would respond and just did it to annoy you. Those are the kind of genius, 3-D chess moves the modern GOP uses to own the libs! You wish you could be as smart.
10/22/2022 3:16:39 PM
wonder if Trump ReTruthed it
10/22/2022 9:31:01 PM
Fetterman has cratered and Walker has a shot. This really could be a bloodbath for the Dems and as someone to the left of their party, I would say they need only to look to themselves. They funded some of the far right candidates in the primaries who now may win.
10/26/2022 4:13:18 PM
Less far right candidates also would have won. But at least they wouldn't be as insane. 6 years is a long time.
