If I understand correctly, she was in constant contact with her family and was all over social media, until it abruptly ended in late August. And her bf showed up in Florida without her on Sept 1. But her parents didn't report her missing until the September 10th?

In situations such as these I always wonder how the murder went down. So far there has not been any identifiable history of violence prior to the trip and that is common in so many murders between loved ones.

I wonder at times if that is why people latch on to the fact that someone who is probably guilty may be innocent because accepting their guilt means we could all be potential murders under the surface.

I said after watching the body cam footage that he killed her. The dirty laundries know the whole story. He probably fed them a bunch of bs when he got home but eventually told them she wasn’t coming back alive. They were complicit in his escape. I count my losses too because I thought there was no way he was in that swamp but on the app trail or Cuba. And I for one am happy for the media coverage not because of ethnicity but she was young and he clearly was controlling her when they got pulled. If they didn’t keep running it she likely wouldn’t have been found for some time. Classic battered woman. “I’m sorry he made him hit me it’s my fault.” Just my 2c

^hmmmm having been with women like her, i saw something completely different.

I saw the police get her admit that she:
-Nearly caused him to run off the road as she hit him when the police pulled them over
-Admitted to being off her medication
-Admitted to fighting him while he was driving
-They were on the trip purely to try to promote her instagram channel (success!)

My assessment was that she knew nothing of camping and that was his sole function for being on the trip. She probably began to cling to him hard as he decided he didn't want to do that shit any more.

If there were a video of the murder, i'm sure one of them had already threatened to commit suicide. They were both very unstable individuals who took a tragic road trip to try to be famous.

Pretty easy to have predicted that he strangled her to death. Like the entire saga unfolded basically 100% as I expected, but I guess I've just seen way too many couples act the way they did: all lovey-dovey in public or on their socials, but in reality they fought and were terrible at communicating just like most people.

Sadly, some people will find some sick way to romanticize this, ala Romeo & Juliet, when in reality it was two people with obvious narcissistic tendencies destroying themselves; one of them just happened to be way more psycho/unstable/violent enough to let all of his rage out.

I have no doubt she was unstable and if the story is told, which it won’t, maybe she threw the first blow. He too admitted to being mentally ill to the police. But I can tell you if that was the level of crazy in a relationship I would have hitchhiked back home if I had no money call her after the 24 hour hold and wished her all the best. Not strangle her and steal her credit card and van.

As said before shit was sad. But his actions killed two life’s if not more. Will be interesting to see the in no doubt investigation of the parents involvement.

Read they were trying to dry out his journal before forensic investigation.
