How is this not made yet?Anyway

I really wanted the chance to lose to both maryland and the shakeel moore/garrison brooks bulldogs
6/10/2021 4:08:07 PM
Ross got 24
6/21/2021 9:40:37 PM
^^^ Anyone know the story on that? Did the tournament want a better team? Did we get a better game?I was kinda looking forward to Shak putting up 25 against Allen.
6/22/2021 11:03:41 AM
Of course you were
6/22/2021 11:23:15 AM
Hey Keatts made his choice last season when he played Allen 25 minutes a game and Shak could barely see the court until Allen got hurt (about the time we coincidentally started winning games). Some of you people are still defending that ridiculous choice. It would have been nice to see it play out head to head. I'm just glad we avoided the complete disaster losing Manny would have been.
6/22/2021 12:37:50 PM
6/22/2021 12:42:29 PM
^^lol, still going hard on that narrative
6/22/2021 1:00:35 PM
It's weird to see a state fan say they look forward to something bad happening to State even if its (maybe??) mostly tongue in cheek?
6/22/2021 1:13:45 PM
i feel like we got a pretty solid moore replacement in morsell. moore a better shooter, but morsell has the size to defend more than just small guards. hopefully the change in offensive system can help his shooting percentages.moore was never gonna be happy here playing second fiddle to hayes. that's all there was to it.]
6/22/2021 1:29:31 PM
^^ I don't want State to lose, just kinda wanted Shak to torch Allen so Keatts could do some self reflection on his personnel choices. I just hope we don't watch Smith and Pass show promise in limited minutes while Allen plays huge minutes this season and then we lose one of them to transfer. ^It would seem weird to come in the same class as Hayes and then decide you can't play over him, then transfer to a school where the two leading minutes/points leaders were small guards if playing PG were the issue.
6/22/2021 2:02:21 PM
jocristian wants only freshmen to play, so that every player in the program leaves after one year for fear of no playing time as an upper classman

^^ There is a 0% chance that Allen is better than Moore.^ I stand corrected. I know nothing about Miss St. other than their team stats and the fact that Moore and Brooks are about to ball out down there.[Edited on June 23, 2021 at 9:31 AM. Reason : d]
6/23/2021 9:30:36 AM
Who cares if he is better, the question is which team is better. If the game was played and Allen got hot and scored 20 while shak didn't do much you'd be disappointed, which is very weird.
6/23/2021 2:59:22 PM
I'm not and would never be disappointed if Allen played well. I'd welcome Allen transforming into a player and us being. I'm simply disappointed that the obvious fact of Shak being twice the player Allen is didn't get put on display. And although it wasn't really the point I was making at the time, it also sucks to not get quality OOC opponents. Who cares if Shak is better? I care and every state fan should care since Keatts apparently has a love affair with "his guys" regardless of the collateral damage (Shak transferring, us losing, no offensive creativity). It's dumb to effectively run off a top 3 talent on the team because you have to play 2 guys who bring next to nothing to the table offensively 50+ minutes a game. DJs minutes were all over the place as well despite him being our among our best if not our best talent. That shit matters to players. I think Allen is not an ACC starter and Shak sitting behind BB and Allen all season (especially while were losing) at minimum partially contributed to his leaving and us losing more than we had to. That's bad for the team. And with no sit transfers being a thing now, Keatts damn well should be worried about his freshmen sitting behind bums just because they may have 1 less TO per game. I'll let it go from here because it's obvious I'm not convincing anyone. I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and Allen have a hell of a season.
6/23/2021 5:54:33 PM
You're acting like this is comparable to Gottfried playing Maverick Rowan 35 minutes a game over both Martin twins. You're being ridiculous.

Acc championship guaranteed
7/26/2021 8:31:28 PM
Does this mean he won't actively encourage the opposing team to miss free throws in the last 4 minutes?
7/27/2021 12:00:47 AM
If you think that then... You Don't Know Bo (tm)

https://gopack.com/news/2021/8/19/mens-basketball-pack-releases-2021-22-mens-basketball-non-conference-schedule.aspxBucknell 225 Colgate 30 Central Connecticut 310 Oklahoma State 28 Texas Southern 190 Louisiana Tech 71 Nebraska 129 Bethune Cookman (Didn't play)vs. Purdue 29 vs. Richmond 68 Wright State 75 Wright State and Colgate NET from last year probably won't repeat. Schedule looks weak as usual under Keatts.
8/19/2021 1:37:51 PM
So weak for choosing to play 6 top 100 teams for the 10 OOC games that we get to choose our opponent. This schedule is fine.
8/19/2021 4:29:40 PM
yeah it's a good schedule
8/19/2021 6:28:20 PM
We'll see at the end of the year I guess. We are playing two SWAC schools and Central Connecticut State. All three of them could be 300+. Colgate and Wright State won't be top 100. Good chance La Tech isn't either.https://twitter.com/asapcxm/status/1428653280595521542?s=19

We should only play top 25 teams in non-conference play[Edited on August 20, 2021 at 8:21 AM. Reason : But also we should win 30 games every year]Really the only gripe anyone should have is that there is no premier non-conference home game. I mean Nebraska is not good. The positive to that, is that playing all of our best games away/neutral sites is that it's better for our NET or whatever.]
8/20/2021 8:21:02 AM
Why are we so obsessed with playing Louisiana Tech in everything?Kevin Keatts is a 2nd round NIT game winner.
10/3/2021 7:24:30 AM
Exhibition tonight against ECSU. free admission.
11/1/2021 9:36:14 AM
It’s not Louisiana Tech? We need them on retainer.

Greg Gantt dealing with a sport hernia[Edited on November 1, 2021 at 11:03 AM. Reason : He’s a player on the basketball team]
11/1/2021 11:02:51 AM
I'm assuming he wasn't expected to play too much since he didn't do a lot at Providence
11/1/2021 12:30:11 PM
I don’t know that we expected him to start. But I think we were hoping for him to be regular contributor. But yeah, his numbers from Providence weren’t anything special.
11/1/2021 1:12:21 PM
We won!
11/1/2021 9:35:02 PM
I am assuming it was part of Manny's new contract that he didn't have to play exhibition games
11/1/2021 11:22:39 PM
Who’s ready to buy a Kevin Keatts NFT from me?Should I make a Manny one?
11/2/2021 7:44:10 AM
^^LOLI know Manny wasn't there, but our rebounding was awful against a surprisingly decent opponent. There were at least a half-dozen possessions where we played solid D, ran the shotclock down and then didn't get the board when they threw up a shot. If we can't fix the rebounding problem, it is gonna hurt us. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if ECSU wins games this year. Usually the athleticism mismatch becomes apparent during these early season games, but they were big and fast and matched our athleticism all game... though I don't know if that says more about them or us. It was nice to see TQ (no idea if that is a nickname, but I'm not trying to spell his name all season) starting instead of Thomas Allen. On the upside, Allen played decent minutes in relief. Like BB last season, it's all about the role for him IMO. I won't be a hater unless he becomes an irrational KK love affair guy. TQ is gonna be streaky this season, but his D is solid and he is long for a guard. He shot no matter what last night and despite not having the smoothest stroke, they were going in. I hope that continues. After the transfer I was pretty down on Morsell, but the dude can play defense. Even if he never becomes a big offensive contributor, he is gonna be on the floor because his end to end defense. Happy surprise for me. Ross is the future over Gibson and Ebenzer IMO. He is raw, but moves really well for a big man.
11/2/2021 9:02:28 AM
I think they started two 6'10" guys? That said Bates probably will need to average 30+ min for us to have any success this year.
11/2/2021 10:02:20 AM
11/2/2021 10:27:42 AM
Maybe I'm missing something here but we are going to be terrible right?
11/2/2021 2:38:04 PM
My guess is lower middle of the ACC again and maybe if some things swing our way we could be on the NCAA bubble. Our defense will keep us in games this year, but we just don't have a ton of scoring (partially due to KK's halfcourt system that doesn't seem to help us) and we will lose some stinkers.
11/2/2021 3:15:47 PM
11/2/2021 3:18:07 PM
^^ sounds about right. I feel like I read that KK’s conference record was maybe the best of any State coach through their first 4 seasons…or something along those lines. Hard to believe that’s true but I also don’t feel like doing the research to double check. Or maybe I’m just misremembering.
11/2/2021 5:07:59 PM
11/3/2021 1:30:53 AM
^^yes, it's something like that
11/3/2021 9:12:45 AM
Rebounding could be a problem. But I think the season hinges on how quickly TQ (stealing that) can become a go-to scorer/shot creator. We've got good pieces overall -- a heady PG, good shooters on the wing, good length and athleticism on defense, a shot-blocking machine in the middle. We just need that guy who can consistently create shots when the clock is winding down. If we're counting on Hellums to be that guy, it could be a long season. Great teammate, good role player, good hustle guy, semi-reliable shooter. Not a go-to scorer. He just doesn't have the quicks or handling ability to consistency create good shots (i'm not counting postup fade aways as good shots.)Maybe Hayes becomes that guy, but it just doesn't seem in his DNA. TQ is going to have to be that guy IMO. He's the X-factor.[Edited on November 3, 2021 at 10:52 AM. Reason : that said, if Manny gets hurt the season is shot to shit]
11/3/2021 10:48:25 AM
How about Terq pronounced 'turk' does that fit with the pronunciation of his name?
11/3/2021 10:59:12 AM
I like Terq. I thought i read “Baby T” was his nickname?I think it’s pronounced Tur Kway Vee OnBut yeah I like TQ also.
