There are a lot of hungry mouths out there, my G's. Food banks are having trouble keeping up with demand in my county, so I pulled the food bank close to me and slid some cash into it's thong.

What are you doing for those in your community?

I was going to donate blood, but then I read at http://www.freedomeagle.ru that Bill Gates is just using that data to create a organ harvesting program for billionaires.

I now tip 15% on carry-out vs 10% in the past. Does that count?

The wife and I don't get takeout often (maybe 2 or 3 times a week), but when we do we've tipped between 50 to 100% for meals we get a local restaurants, with the higher end mostly geared towards the local diner we always eat at for Saturday breakfast.

I was going to volunteer to do contact tracing, but it would have involved doing it for 4-8 hours a day for several weeks. Unfortunately I can't do that and also perform my regular job duties.

My work's been donating each week to local businesses/charities.

I've been making more of an effort to buy local stuff, but I'm pretty cheap so I haven't spent _too_ much

After George Floyd I decided to redo my budget to make room for some monthly donations.

Southern Poverty Law Center and TGD's podcast to help make some racist's day worse
World Central Kitchen because I'm a Jose Andres stan and he fed me for free during the shutdown
My local NPR station because I'm a moderately affluent overeducated white liberal, and this is way of my people.

I've been donating pretty frequently. I'm doing so much better than so many people, and I hardly spend money on myself, so I'll just drop cash on crowdfunding campaigns anonymously when I see them on my Twitter timeline. That's in addition to our normal charitable contributions. And you know, it's a drop in the fucking bucket, and even if we all did everything we could, it wouldn't excuse our governments for fucking the dog as hard and dry as they have.

Dear FroshKiller,

Please don't put me on the soapbox about how our government has gotten us to the point that in order to put food in our mouths, afford healthcare (let alone a crisis), keep a roof over our heads, or even go to work; we need to beg on the internet for money.

Regards,
EMCE
