Lack of ability to go out and be around people is really messing with me right now.

One of my coping strategies for helping myself stay out of depressed episodes is to go out and be social even if I don't want to. I force myself to go out because it helps me to stop ruminating on negative thoughts.

I've done skype and facetime and things like that, but it doesn't replace in-person interaction. It's not really feasible to sit on skype for several hours.

I know things are getting bad for me because here I am with a bunch of spare time and I literally have no energy or desire to do all the things that I wish I could do with more spare time.

Anyone else feeling like this? Got any advice?

My therapist and I never planned for in case of a global pandemic and isolation.

Do you live in a neighborhood? We've started hanging out more with our neighbors, which has really helped. We're all a little community of folks doing the same things as far as prevention and staying in, with the exception of one neighbor who is defying all of this, so we feel ok hanging out with them.

^^unfortunately, our neighborhood is not very social. I'd be totally down for hanging out with neighbors, but no one really hangs out outside.

A productive daily routine (which is more challenging during this time for sure but still possible of course) reinforces mental health, which helps us stay productive, reinforcing mental health, etc, etc

Sawahash, find a hobby that you like such as wood-working or crocheting, for example. Make something really tedious that would take several days to build. Would it take you several days to crochet a whole sweater? Build the tedious item. 1. It will take you several days and make time go by quicker. 2. You will be proud of what you made and feel a sense of accomplishment. 3. Things may be back to normal by the time you finish.

First month or so I was pretty bad. Finally last 10 or so days of April I figured might as well make best of it. Been grilling and exercising more, try not to cum more than once a day if that, etc

I am. My entire life was based on things that won't be happening anymore and it sucks because the restrictions don't allow me to restructure my social activities to something more sustainable. Its like its too late.

-Pickup and rec basketball/volleyball/football was 100% of my exercise and a huge chunk of my social life
-I had a friend group into EDM and all we did together was go to clubs and parties get drunk, high, or hookup with random people
-I had a friend group of guys who all we did was go out to bars and try to pickup chicks
-I was just about to get serious with a girl who lives on the other side of the country. we were headed for a trip together to italy in late march.
-My dating was solely bumble/tinder meetups or similar internet meetings through couchsurfing.
-I traveled internationally 4 or 5 trips per year. A lot of my best friends and family are out of the country
-I had a massive schedule of spring/summer festival plans. festivals are my favorite thing
-Im a huuuuge nba fan. Its literally all I focus on this part of the yeaer. This was the most interesting nba season of my life.

All that is gone for the foreseeable future.
