I can't decide

Depends on what kind of capacity you're looking for. We have a Phillips HD9641 that we bought with some Amazon credits. We've been pretty happy with it. I wish the basket was a little bigger, but then again, it already takes up too much valuable counter space. But as far as functionality, it works like it is supposed to. Has a single knob that controls temp and time, which is all you need.I assume since you're at the point of purchasing you've weighed the pro's and con's. We've found that it does frozen things very well. We also like to make our own porkchop/chicken breader, and it's great for that. But outside of that, we don't use it much. The kids like frozen potatoes of course, and we try to limit how much we eat, but that thing works like a champ for frozen potatoes. If we didn't have those credits, we probably wouldn't have gotten one. We use the instant pot a lot more.

Just make sure you get one that is big enough. I got this one on a whim a few years ago:https://www.amazon.com/DASH-Compact-Electric-Digital-Temperature/dp/B07GP6CJPMAlthough the functionality is perfect, I wish I had gotten a bigger one. It makes really good fries from scratch (literally just potatoes, olive oil, salt, and pepper so not nearly as unhealthy as regular fries) but if I'm making enough for more than one person I have to make them in batches. Normally that means I cut up one potato, air fry it, then keep those in the oven why air frying the next batch. Kind of annoying. If I am making something bigger like buffalo wings I can only really fit 6 or 7 in there at a time and I have to do some strategic positioning.Any type of small frozen thing like popcorn shrimp or tots are no problem though.

I have limited counter space so am mainly interested in something that can replace my toaster oven, which basically means it needs to be able to toast bread/bagels. I'm mainly focusing on models that explicitly list that as a feature, like the two below but I'm open to whateverhttps://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-TOB-260N1-Convection-Toaster-Stainless/dp/B01M0AWSJXhttps://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-TOA-60-Fryer-Toaster-Silver/dp/B01K0W8LTE

For ours, the Bundt pan fits right into the tray and makes a very moist cake

annnnnnd now i'm hard

i go through periods where i want something like this. collecting dust and counterspace always seem to win out

I'm going to be replacing a toaster over so I'm adding functionality without taking more counterspace [Edited on April 24, 2020 at 10:28 PM. Reason : ]

In-law out of the blue gifted us a ninja 5 in one system awhile back. It’s fucking huge, but luckily we have a pantry space to store it when not in use. Out of the 5 functions we’ve only ever used 2, and just use the air fryer 99% of the time that it has been used. But it’s got a giant basket compared to most air fryers, and I have been enjoying it quite a bit in this quarantine time

Oh, and this might sound kinda lazy, but cleaning ours is kind of a pain. The basket breaks down into three different pieces, then you have to clean the tray in which the basket sits.

We have that 2nd Cuisinart one you linked. It's great. Toasts, air fries, broils, convection bakes. It keeps us from turning on our oven a lot of times. Did whole baked sweet potatoes in it just the other night and they only took like 30 or 40 minutes. Then today I cut up some corn tortillas to make my own tortilla chips with the air fry mode.[Edited on April 28, 2020 at 9:35 PM. Reason : I generally hate having a pile of small kitchen appliances, but this thing is a keeper. ]

I am only cooking for myself, few people on slickdeals said cleanup is super easy

Buy the one with the annoying pitchman and the air-headed female co-host who tastes everything like she's never had food before.

https://youtu.be/X4jfc5QMFt0Did this today as my first thing cooked. Was pretty good. Loved not having to use an oven for one piece, and it didn’t smell up the apt etcWant to try this soon: https://youtu.be/X4jfc5QMFt0And want to try air fried aparagus tooAnd of course wings, tots, and chicken breastsThis was the salmon

Been doing fish filets dipped in egg and then breaded with panko and air fried. Satisfies my craving for breaded and fried fish and keeps it low calorie.

^do you put foil down? Maybe not always, but ever? I like that it eliminated any cleanup, but makes me wonder if it changes the cooking any, due to less airflow underneathSalmon on sale for 6.99/pound, sale ends tomorrow. Might go back tomorrow and vacuum seal some fillets for later. I got 3 fillets out of the piece I bought today, the other 2 are a little smaller than the one I had today, prob eat both together tomorrow. Didn’t realize the skin was so hard to cut through. Tried cutting skin off for about half a minute before i realized it was futile. Had to get a different knife

No foil when I'm using it in air fry mode because I want the air flow all around. I use the wire basket with a little non stick spray. If I'm just using it as an oven with the sheet pan, then I usually use foil for easier cleaning.

Fish is really good in the air fryer. My wife hates salmon because she got food poisoning from it once so I rarely get to eat it. If she isn't here for dinner one of my fav things to get is just a simple salmon filet from the seafood counter at publix. Throw it in the air fryer for a few mins and it comes out slightly crispy but not dry at all. It's great.

Did the panko tilapia and some fresh green beans in there last night. The green beans blister up and brown nicely. Pretty tasty.

NRR do u spray any oil on the breaded fish or is it good as-is?[Edited on May 27, 2020 at 10:04 AM. Reason : Same for the green beans ]

Did you buy the one I recommended?

I did panko salmon its about to be done now but when i peeked to see how it was doing it looked pretty goodGonna do tots, wangs, popcorn shrimp, butterfly shrimp, and some tyson boneless wings soon. I did fish sticks the other day and those were good. Reheated a slice of pizza yesterday and it was the bomb[Edited on May 27, 2020 at 7:05 PM. Reason : Was really good!]
5/27/2020 6:45:25 PM
^^^^I give it a light spray. It's ok without, but way better with it, imo. Pretty much everything you air fry is better with a little spray. Still way healthier and easier than pan or deep frying.[Edited on May 27, 2020 at 7:40 PM. Reason : season the egg and panko. I like some cajun seasoning.]

Real simple lemon pepper tuna steak and asapragus dinner. Turned out good, but could be better.
6/4/2020 10:01:17 PM
I did cauliflower floret "wings" yesterday. Toss the florets in egg, bread them with seasoned panko, air fry, then drizzle with a little wing sauce and toss. Pretty tasty.
6/8/2020 12:18:55 PM
Used it today to dry some boxers. I was out of clean underwear with no access to laundry facilities. Worked real well

tried the cauliflower "wings" again but with almond flour and egg whites for the batter. it was even better. adjust the thickness with water. could probably just do all water, too. i put some bbq wing rub in the batter. don't have to coat them entirely, just so there are some crunchy bits on each one. mixed up some ranch with non-fat greek yogurt thinned with water and it was pretty tasty.
