One of mine is learning how to play careless whisper on as many instruments as possible.

I'm seeing how long I can make it without drinking alcohol. My wife was sick with a cough and low-grade fever in early March, so we've been self-isolating and haven't consumed any alcohol since then.
3/26/2020 5:35:00 PM
But what if alcohol is the cure???
3/26/2020 5:38:01 PM
In that case, it'll be fortunate that I have 1.5 fifths of rum and 1.5 fifths of gin in reserve.
3/26/2020 5:43:56 PM
I've got to keep going to work for now to keep y'all's lights on, but on the weekends I'll be doing yard work, completely revamping the electrical in my shop, and riding my mountain bike solo.
3/26/2020 8:18:22 PM
Shit, do you have to run in one of those giant hamster wheels to generate electricity?
3/26/2020 8:36:04 PM
3/26/2020 9:00:58 PM
Still workin’.If I get any time off, prob use it to do a ceiling repair, repaint the outside of my shop, dig some French drains in the yard, and plug/sod a couple of areas with sparse/no grass....and maybe start working on my instrument rating (flying). And then play with my cars/motorcycles/boat, and airplane if the repairs get completed[Edited on March 26, 2020 at 9:03 PM. Reason : And run/swim more since I can’t lift weights as much]

Today was pretty productive. Borrowed a pole saw and got everything i could reach trimmed, cleared along the property lines with a brush cutter, had a new septic tank installed, cut in a box, ran wire, and got a floodlight/security camera going. Tomorrow I'll put down some weed and feed, spray some glyphosate, do some bike riding, and grill some steaks.
3/27/2020 9:48:54 PM
Make sure to spray some glyphosate on the streaks.
3/27/2020 9:55:24 PM
I only do that on grass-fed beef.
3/27/2020 9:58:02 PM
i assume the box you cut in was your wife[Edited on March 27, 2020 at 9:59 PM. Reason : after you downed some weed]
3/27/2020 9:58:59 PM
nah, regular old 4" ceiling box for a light fixture. Busted out the ol' hole saws for it. Centered it up over the roll up door on the detached garage. Lights up the driveway nicely and lets me keep an eye on folks coming and going.

3/27/2020 10:08:16 PM
read the way too many books that have sat unread on my bookshelf for years
3/27/2020 10:20:12 PM
Got the weed and feed down and sprayed the glyphosate. Leveled out some of the yard that got tore up in the septic tank process. Ventured to Costco and the butcher shop for some food and stuff. Got the rest of my security system, a couple more cameras, and a smart deadbolt installed. Knocked out a 1.5 hr trainer ride while a USDA prime ribeye came to temp in my crock pot sous vide rig, then I seared it up on the vortex in the weber kettle. It was a great day. Tomorrow I'll do a little more yard work and try to get a mtb ride in before watching the sim race.steak: https://photos.app.goo.gl/r94YCELjnigqpNna9[Edited on March 28, 2020 at 8:34 PM. Wow great looking steak!I miss your cook pics Here's a sim racing podcast a couple friends of mine were doing.https://www.spreaker.com/user/12183654/off-the-chain-episode-001

Most of my cooking is geared towards lower calorie meals now, so there's not much to show off. I also downsized a bunch when I moved and got rid of the Akorn and the Genesis. All I have now is the Performer and a little Smokey Joe. I do kinda want a pellet grill.
3/28/2020 9:40:35 PM
I was wondering why you were using the kettle. Need to sell mine actually if anyone needs one.[Edited on March 28, 2020 at 10:07 PM. Reason : I kinda want a pellet cooker too. There are some affordable one's used but probably not the best sea]
3/28/2020 10:06:34 PM
not get covid-19
3/28/2020 10:29:05 PM
I get the best and easiest sear with the vortex in the kettle, so I was using it more than the Akorn and only bringing the Akorn out for low and slow. I don't remember the last time I did a grill pizza, so I just couldn't justify keeping it around. I've done low and slow successfully on the kettle, but it takes some attention. I think kettle and pellet grill would be the simplest way to cover everything I grill now. I still recommend kamados for anyone wanting a single grill.I forgot I also need to replace a couple bike chains tomorrow.
3/28/2020 10:52:56 PM
Another productive day yesterday. Did a bunch more cleaning up and leveling in the yard, installed a wifi-connected garage door controller, changed two bike chains, went for a 15 mile mountain bike ride, and grilled some marinated pork and pineapple for some fine tacos last night.
3/30/2020 11:05:58 AM
Got a bunch more smart home/automation stuff installed. New AC/furnace install is next week. Yard is flagged for natural gas line/meter install.Just ordered everything i need to rewire the detached garage, with the exception of the new 100 amp power feed. New subpanel, (16) 120V outlets, three-way lighting ckt, (4) 50A/220V outlets, etc. Did the in-store pickup at Lowe's to try and limit interactions. Should keep me busy for a while.By the time all this shit is over, I'll have all summer to hike, bike, fish, etc. without feeling like I'm putting off any home projects.[Edited on April 4, 2020 at 8:21 AM. Reason : also gotta learn about natural gas plumbing so I can swap to a gas range]

Nice pace!
6/7/2020 11:16:47 AM
Thanks! It would have been more impressive if:- I didn't get stopped by two traffic lights-Both dogs didn't decide to take a shit, resulting in me having to stop and bag it up.-My penis wasn't so large, causing me to trip over it and fall.
6/7/2020 11:36:22 AM
I'm on week 8 of this. Yesterday I ran 14.25 miles @ 9:36 min/mi.
6/7/2020 8:03:23 PM
So, I feel like I was having a moment there... And then your gobbligookin' ass comes along posting up talking about your run, making me look like a goddamn banana peel laying in the dirt... Look man, I like you, and certainly don't wish any serious I'll on you. But now, I kinda hope the doorknob snags your belt buckle the next time you're heading out the door in a hurry. Week 13 FTL
6/7/2020 10:32:09 PM
I got into biking and semi regularly exercising. And learning to cook a few things. Not much more than that
6/12/2020 11:13:23 PM
I've been catching up on my back log of photos to catalog, edit and share. Also got a lot cleaned up and tree cut down around the yard and built a firepit with in the back yard with the family.Trying to get better about exercise. I did none before but I've been doing half hour evening walks and listening to podcasts during the walk, something else I didn't really do as my commute was barely ten minutes before. Some physical and mental exercise. Lost a little weight from it as well, so that's all cool.Sadly I have to return to work onsite after the 4th of July and will also lose my 4 10-hour day schedule. At least I get to work one week onsite and then one week remote, which I'm advocating for four 10's. Hoping we can keep something like this longer term even after Covid is done.
6/12/2020 11:36:49 PM
I was going to de-clutter my entire home.So far have gained about 10 lbs.
6/16/2020 8:27:06 AM
My goals now are way different than they would have been 10 years ago and single. If I were single, I’d use all that free time to read and learn something new. Now it’s spent parenting or being too exhausted to do anything.
6/16/2020 8:56:29 AM
I ran a 10k for the first time in the neighborhood yesterday. It was raining which made it nice and cool. I usually only run during my lunch break so normally I only have time for a 5k.
6/16/2020 9:01:47 AM
It's been more than 100 days since I've had any alcohol.I'm going to the beach next week and will likely drink there, but I'm pretty satisfied with how long I've I've been able to abstain until then.
