To me it looks pretty good to me

I’ve very much enjoyed the first 3 episodes,
1/22/2020 9:34:36 AM
^same, very entertaining. Ben Mendelsohn is great
1/22/2020 2:30:05 PM
I've enjoyed it. Felt real bad for Jason Bateman. I wonder if anything like this (ignoring the supernatural aspect of course) has actually happened, where there was indisputable evidence of somebody committing a crime while conflicting evidence showed they were innocent? So for anyone who hasn't read Stephen King's book, any theories? Some sort of shapeshifter or clone? Why would it go to such a great extent to be seen on multiple cameras? Was it trying to frame Terry specifically and just didn't expect him to be caught on camera elsewhere at the same time as the murder? If it needed to "feed" or whatever, why not just do so then try to hide?
1/22/2020 6:08:46 PM
I read the book and I've watched the first ep. I've typed and deleted something 6 times wanting to avoid spoilers. I At the end, ask me about the first episode.

I've read the book, and they've made Ralph and the DA a lot more likable in the show
1/29/2020 6:25:48 PM
Really good first four episodes. Really slow 5th, except for Ralph’s wife’s scene with the broken glass[Edited on February 3, 2020 at 11:55 PM. Reason : .]
2/3/2020 11:54:33 PM
^ yeah, I say this without knowing the source material, so I really don’t know how much story is left to tell, but im beginning to think 8 episodes may have been better than 10
2/4/2020 9:04:06 AM
I'm a couple eps behind but the ep 4 sex scene was silly. Hbo necessity maybe?
2/11/2020 10:14:49 PM
^you mean the one that showed how he got scratched? I’d say that was important info
2/12/2020 5:59:14 AM
A long leisurely breakfast (also prob unnecessary) but the only way to get a scratch in is a nice fuck session. Silly.
2/12/2020 6:40:48 AM
If it had just been the breakfast, I could see viewers being confused whether it was with the actual person or the doppelgänger. Showing them fucking while she was saying she doesn’t remember meeting anyone special (and also think she said she was a lesbian) really hammered home that it wasn’t actually her.
2/12/2020 7:13:21 AM
"i blew off the breakfast."Next scene: breakfastConfusing? You shouldn't have to do an out of character scene to keep the viewer on board. I like this show but ep 4 was alot of filler and added plot to really hammer home the point. Maybe I'm just being "book guy" though.
2/12/2020 8:19:09 AM
Out of character? We barely know the two characters that were involved in it. No way of knowing if it were out of character. One thing that did stand out though-- when Holly was talking to the woman in the prison, it is oddly convenient that the older lady just so happened to be there at the exact right time to overhear her conversation and not only know of this doppelganger creature, but actually think that it is real.
2/12/2020 8:56:19 AM
I guess the scene didn’t really stand out to me, honestly took me a few minutes after reading your post to remember it and which characters were involved. I agree with the filler thing, you can see a few posts up I said I think this may have been better as an 8 episode series rather than ten. Although overall I am still quite enjoying it. One thing I did find odd (and almost suspicious) was how quickly the mall security dude seemed to fall head over heels for Holly, it was like as soon as he pulled up to her in the parking lot he was obsessed. I also hope they address why the detective dude had to buy the creature home goods/desk lamps^yeah that shit was pretty eye roll worthy too[Edited on February 12, 2020 at 9:04 AM. Reason : $$$]
2/12/2020 9:03:29 AM
^^I'll take the fifth on the first part bc I haven't seen the two most recent epsAs for the second part, I agree, exposition that could have been given by another character
2/12/2020 9:28:49 AM
2/14/2020 2:49:29 PM
I’ve changed my mind on this show, it’s just straight up bad. I’m gonna watch the last episode, but the second half has been terrible.
3/4/2020 11:44:36 AM
It has faded quite a bit, unfortunately.
3/4/2020 12:56:07 PM
First Stephen King book? LolThey always end terribly
3/4/2020 2:43:42 PM
it's very slow
3/4/2020 4:03:10 PM
theyve changed so much, its hard to blame it all on King
3/4/2020 8:54:57 PM
10 episodes was too optimistic. Episodes 6-9 could have been one hour long episode.
3/5/2020 12:12:00 AM
i knew mustache was going to be the first to go. could taste the pennies.
3/5/2020 2:25:12 PM
Loved the first two episodes but then it really seemed to drag, they could have definitely condensed this into a 6 episode show. The last episode was solid though, looking forward to the ending.
3/6/2020 1:52:33 PM
I think the writing has been bad. I’ve found the characters interactions and reactions incredibly peculiar and unrealistic.
3/6/2020 2:12:52 PM
The attempt to abduct the kid made no sense. It doesn't necessarily NEED kids, it has a helper that could get it while it still weak, and half the point of abducting kids is to make it super obvious who "did it" so trying to be sneaky with the mask didn't help. The bad cop is simultaneously more sympathetic and more confused as to why he's helping. I don't get the point of the angry mean brother other than I guess tv shows need conflict. Also ill have to look at the book to see if this is diff, but part of the point of all those cops being with Claude is for witnesses/alibis so they decide, let's send him off for alone time with a defense lawyer?
3/6/2020 2:23:56 PM
Welp
3/9/2020 8:36:28 AM
^^well the alone time was so they could develop the plan to hunt it without it knowing. If Claude is anywhere around them while they're making a plan it would have been given away. Which is exactly what happened in the next episode where the brother told him the plan. This show sucked. What a waste of 10 weeks.
3/9/2020 11:50:05 AM
I actually didn’t hate the finale. If the 4-5 episodes before it, which were awful, had been condensed to about 1 episode, it might have been an ok series. As it stands I definitely would not recommend to anyone that hasn’t watched it.
3/11/2020 9:18:08 AM
The finale and the series weren’t bad. B for the series. Like I said before it could have been 3 episodes shorter. It seems clear to me that Holly is really “The Outsider” not El Cuco. I’d love to see her and Ralph team up for more creature searching. Holly ended up for me being the most interesting character on the show.
3/15/2020 11:12:44 PM
Trailer looked good, can someone put a spoilers tag and say whether bateman was the killer or not?
3/16/2020 1:34:28 AM
who's bateman?(but also what did she mean by that?!)
3/16/2020 9:53:29 AM
3/16/2020 10:46:51 AM
Also, why send him to a chicken place out in the middle of nowhere with likely no security footage or anyone else reputable to back up claims? So this El Cuco thing clearly has sharp teeth/claws whatever to tear up the bodies of humans that it eats. Why did it not try to fight back itself? It could turn invisible or whatever it was when it first attacked Hoskins, then again was shoving him around in the woods. With literally just Ralph and Holly coming into the cave, couldn't it at least have hid behind a rock and tried something? Even if it was weak, it knew they were coming to kill it.
3/16/2020 10:53:46 AM
The show made things more complicated, but I think anything with Hoskins was supposed to be mind control. Also, as to fighting, the show muddles things up with the kidnap attempt and knocking someone down, in theory the thing is too weak to even leave the cave. That's why it needed Hoskins out there in the first place. Also not sure why they needed Claude in the cave in the first place. I thought they would try the "which one is the real one" trope but they made no attempt at that.
3/16/2020 10:58:32 AM
^ ralph was saying how they had to keep the body in the cave for terry's alibi, or something to that effect, and holly asked "who's terry?"
3/16/2020 11:15:49 AM
3/16/2020 11:17:52 AM
So what I don't get is how El Cuco is so weak? It was eating animals and shit all the time. It could have eaten Hoskins, which given that he wasn't exactly a small guy, I'd expect would have given it more energy than a child. It said that children "tasted sweeter" -- was that meant to imply that something about children gives it more energy then just eating animals/adult humans?
3/16/2020 11:37:04 AM
3/16/2020 1:04:43 PM
If you didn’t stick around through the credits (I didn’t either, but found out about it later), there was a stinger...Holly had a scratch on her arm
3/16/2020 1:28:51 PM
Jesus. What a cluster. If she got scratched it shouldn't matter, the thing is dead. Absolutely nothing in the show would say the thing can just transfer itself to a new body.
3/16/2020 1:34:07 PM
^My thoughts exactly. Unless there are more of them and they are somehow psychically linked or something like that. How did it even scratch her? She didn't come anywhere near it. Ralph is the only one who did and that is only when he smashed it's head with the rock.
3/16/2020 1:55:58 PM
She stabbed it right? But yea "oh this entity that has a major trait of scratching people just scratched me" might be hard to miss especially since she is supposed be "notice things" super powered.
3/16/2020 3:05:07 PM
she was also listening to music, which she earlier said she did not like to do, so she was definitely differentpotential season 2?
3/16/2020 4:07:06 PM
It's a mess. 10 eps setting up rules just to change them after the end.
