Yeah I think it's fantastic.I've heard it referred to as a soap opera which it is to a point...but I love the setting, themes, and characters.

I started watching this maybe 6 months ago or so, mostly because of Ryan Bingham. Almost immediately I was like, "Why the fuck wasn't I watching this from the beginning?".There's been so much more than enough to keep me watching post Bingham's departure, I'll be in this til the end most likely. I do have a couple nits to pick with some of the writing choices. Like how is Jamie so fucking stupid to keep asking Beth for help, and are we to believe that this is all possible in Montana, or is this sort of a different world? It's a lot of murder with basically no legal repercussion thus far, seems unlikely. But the music, acting, and cinematography are all great, which is plenty for me. Also I'm currently one episode behind

the first season story was a little disorganized, the 2nd season is really good so far
8/16/2019 10:08:23 AM
first season moved pretty fast. Just starting 2nd season.

jfc the end of that episode, I know we were expecting it but still, shit got real

Is this show political? Because all my hardcore conservative friends on FB are raving about it.
8/23/2019 7:53:34 AM
No
8/24/2019 9:44:47 AM
It appeals to what conservatives think their political leanings say about them (self reliance, defending what's yours, being a "man"), but there is nothing really very political about the show
9/4/2019 9:29:25 AM
i'd say it's "montana political". fighting over land, the have's and the have-not's, keeping things the way they've always been vs. progression and change. it's also very lol-worthy. Especially the season 1 episode with the asian tourists.

So....this is on the Paramount network? Another monthly fee streaming service?
9/9/2019 11:06:04 AM
No fee if you have a DirecTV login. Not sure what the standalone cost is.
9/9/2019 11:50:49 AM
I get it on Sling
9/9/2019 12:21:53 PM
it's on Spike as well.
9/9/2019 7:00:21 PM
Great show.Do you find your allegiance switching between the Duttons and the Rainwaters, or is that just me?
11/10/2020 9:30:04 PM

Anyone else besides me think this is just a modern “Dallas”?
11/17/2021 10:04:48 PM
Probably a R rated version of Dallas, but I bet most people here are to young to have watched Dallas all the way through.WHO SHOT J.R.?!?

How is Jamie's hair going to get himself out of this mess?
11/23/2021 8:06:30 AM
I wish the writers could figure out a way to make the ranch hands more seamlessly involved in the show's main storyline more often. In general this is the show on right now that I look forward to the most each week. Also the music is just great, as on point as that in Peaky BlindersI will say I don't need to see horses spinning around in circles and stopping any more. And by any more I mean I was done with it after the first 1 time they did it
11/23/2021 2:49:24 PM
But how will they fill the 45 minutes of run time if they don't have a dressage montage and a cowboy bunk scene?
11/24/2021 9:08:03 AM
Omg. Tyler Sheridan loves to film himself on those damn horses.

Season 4 was kind of a letdown. I believe the writers are slowing it down enough to get at least 6 seasons out of it.Thoughts on season 4? I don't want to share any spoilers yet.
1/3/2022 9:53:37 PM
I think season 4 epitomizes the writing on this show. They have great characters and great dialogue, but they have no idea where to take the plot
1/4/2022 4:33:15 PM
Solid season, but not as good as season 4. Hopefully this isn't a show that just goes on in perpetuity. 5-6 seasons max.Also...Laramie!
1/5/2022 10:30:28 AM
Slow season low body count. no side boob
1/5/2022 4:29:19 PM
Season 4 was trash. What a complete waste of Will Patton. It took them all season to wrap up the loose end of the Season 3 finale that it had zero impact. Just some hitmen hired by a deadbeat dad. Sure, Jan.What a complete waste of Market Equities. a shoddy plan by Beth to get the developers in trouble through the media ends in her out of a job. What a complete waste of a season for Casey. The only character with any real moral grounding got to spend the last half of the season chasing stolen horses and going on a vision quest. Great. The only redeeming thing was seeing Jimmy make it out alive.

Everything this season has been a setup for the spin-offs. what a shitty season
1/7/2022 3:37:41 PM
If I had been given the assignment of finding a subject for a Yellowstone spinoff I'm not sure I could have come up with anything less interesting than the 6's ranch

Ha ^. Finally finished season 4 so I can read this thread again. Getting predictable. Only thing I called wrong in the last episode was I thought Jamie was going to shoot his dad mid-sentence instead of waiting until he was done talking.Agreed - what was the point of the 1883 flashback tracking horse thiefs other than to rip off Lonesome Dove and just gratuitously promote a spinoff? And I'm not sure how much Sheridan knows about politics, but running for governor is kind of a full-time job - don't think there was even an attempt to show Dutton campaigning after his announcement.

Just really go into this show the last couple of months.Watched all 4 seasons in a short time span If I was to rank seasons it would be S1..S3..S2....................S4 outside the first episode of season 4 it really was kind of a let down.As has been said John's running for Governor he accepted the Lunell's endorsement and then Jaime plots to run against him even saying he would call a press conference but nothing happened on that front and now nothing will, unless the curve ball is Kayce running against his dad in season 5.Season 4 was so disjointed, in episode 1 everyone is phyically and emotionally hurt, but by episode 2 everyone seems fine. Episode 9 Beth and John have it out and John basically tells her to GTFO and 10 minutes into Ep 10 they make up and its almost like nothing happened. This show has become very Beth and Rip centric which is fine because they are compelling characters but John started out as somewhat of an Antihero in S1 to and out hero by S4. Jaime wanders in and out of the plot now, and Kayce seems to be following same path. Overall S4 seemed to have 1 goal setup the 1883 and 6666's spinoffs.
2/7/2022 7:53:02 AM
S5 started off strong!
11/14/2022 9:10:21 AM
Hopefully it continues, but strong start.
11/15/2022 12:40:08 PM
I realize I'm in the minority here since the whole country has fallen in love with this show, but what really is this any more other than cowboy people putting down any opinion that's not their own with un-countered one liners that make sense for 3 seconds? Oh and Beth being ridiculously cruel to JamieI'll keep coming back for the music I guess, but it's giving me a hard time lately

Its rare for shows to keep up high quality writing and plot lines. Characters whose plots have gotten stale or unecessaryKayce, Monica, and Tate they don't really add much anymore. Chief Rainwater and Mo Bunkhouse crew especially Walker and Teeter Like Jeepin4x4 said its pretty much Beth dropping one liners and being mean to Jaime, John dropping one liners and complaining that he actually has to govern. Jaime being conflicted about helping his adopted family and his political ambition. And Rip running the ranch and breaking the law to keep the ranch running. The other characters are just filler. But I'll keep watching
