we need to know the type of rifle used, magazine capacity and ethnicity of shooter to determine appropriate outrage level

^ correct
And be sure not to “politicize” this...you must wait the appropriate amount of time after this event but before the next one happens to talk about gun control.

He identifies as Italian and Iranian, this is going to twist politicians and pundits in pretzels.

Very sad event. Not sure what type of gun was used yet, but we need to limit 15-30 year old disgruntled, sexually frustrated, and/or mentally ill men from having such ready access to high powered firearms. This wouldn't prevent all mass shootings (see Vegas, etc.) but would drastically limit casualties in the US.

Lol - sexually frustrated. How you gonna quantify that at the counter when homeboy is buying is gun?

Sir, can you please tell me the last time you got laid by someone other than yourself? I have to fill in this line right here on your FBI paperwork.

Apparently an Instagram post under the shooters name made mention of a white supremacist book.

I wasn't intimating that it was "quantifiable", just defining the "at risk" pool in broad strokes. I don't purport to know how to fix the problem, but it is pretty clear what group represents the bulk of mass shooters.

I like to think I am in the majority, but who the hell knows anymore. I don't own a gun, but am not anti-gun. I enjoy sporting clays and skeet shooting from time to time, and have considered purchasing a hand gun after my car was stolen from my driveway (although I would personally only buy a gun after going through some pretty serious training, as I have no idea what I am doing). I think the "slippery-slope", fear mongering from the 2nd Amendment/NRA side has been taken to the point of absurdity, and that there are dependable statistics from other countries who have limited gun ownership as to the positive effect on gun related deaths in those countries. Hand guns, single shot rifles/shotguns for sport, etc. are all ok in my opinion, although I think universal background checks, annual safety class/compliance requirements, and a mental health screening every 5-7 years would make sense. Everything else, including AR-15s should be reserved for the military (or police). Problem being, whenever any common sense gun reform is proposed (even when supported by 80% of the US population, as is often the case) the gun lobby goes back to their spin that Hillary & Bill Clinton, Obama, and the 4 horseman of the apocalypse are coming to confiscate every gun ever sold.

In Germany, all gun owners are registered and the police show up randomly from time to time to check that all of your amo and weapons are up to spec and stored properly.

I would not be against this, tbh.

another shooting? Ok, I got the response this time, you guys can relax.

1. TnP!
2. Something about good guys with guns would have prevented this
3. Obama's fault
4. Lock her up!
5. The Wall would have stopped the shooter.
6. If they don't like it, they can git out.
7. It's cause God isn't in our schools nemores.
8. TnP again, just cause it can't hurt.
9. What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?! There's nothing we can do about this.
10. Don't politicize this.
11. We need fewer gun restrictions to prevent this.
12. False flag
13. It was really an extremist liberal.
14. He was just confused and going through a hard time.
15. The victims should have been prepared.
16. MAGA
17. He was a terrorist from Iran. We should ban foreigners.
18. Build The Wall!
19. We should nuke Iran.
20. Der cumin ter git muh gurhns!
