This site has many recipes tailored for the Instant Pot. She takes a lot of crock pot recipes and ports them. Most are pretty healthy, and I have rarely had a bad dinner from this site. One of my favorites is the Barbacoa beef.

Pinterest has a lot of good ones. Literally, just about anything you want to make, go on Pinterest and say "______ instant pot recipe" and you can find some good ones.

You can cook frozen chicken and dry pasta in the same pot in like 20 minutes.

Pure water
Dried mugwort
Dried rosemary
3 pieces of moonstone
1 white feather

Set a small pot of water heating up in the Instapot. Add about a teaspoon of dried mugwort and a pinch of rosemary. Let it come to a simmer then drop in the moonstones, one at a time. Stir the mix clockwise 3 times. Touch the surface of the water with the tip of the feather then touch it to your forehead. Let it simmer for another few minutes then let it cool.

Pour your potion into a cup and have a few drinks (please don't choke on the moonstone pieces, but do leave them in the cup). Your third eye will start to open and you'll be ready for inspiration and psychic experience.

^^^ 20 minutes I think.

I have a cookbook with that recipe but NY Times cooking section is a stingy bastard with their articles so I can't look at it right now, I think this is the same recipe though.

[Edited on December 30, 2018 at 7:05 PM. Reason : The pearl onions were too much hassle though, peeling all those little bastards.]

I got an instant pot like two months ago. This is one of the first things I made with it, it was so good I ended up eating it for lunch all week. The device makes awesome risotto.

A walmart near me has this model: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Instant-Pot-Viva-Black-Multi-Use-9-in-1-6-Quart-Pressure-Cooker/562129090 for 50 on brickseek, wanted to ask whether that was worth going to, or if I should hold out for 8qt

forget sous vide, it doesn't have a pump. 8qt is what I have and it's pretty small imo. I haven't done any pressure cooking in mine yet, just air frying

After cooking 5 meals in my Instant Pot, I've come to the conclusion that it's a piece of shit.

First off, the directions/instructions are atrocious. And the whole "instant pot" concept is misleading. A 12 minute high pressure cook takes about 30 minutes. WTF? Also, the interface is not user-friendly. It took me forever to figure out once you press PRESSURE COOK and enter the minutes, you just wait. There's no confirmation on the unit.

I was hangry as fuck about to throw the damn thing in the trash.

I agree with a lot of ^. I think the ninja foodi has a better UI/UX but it was $50 more. That said, it cooks rice and quinoa better than I ever would on the stove or in the microwave and I like the air fryer component. I think the instant pot is basically a more versatile crockpot.

We just got one over the weekend. I splurged and got the Bluetooth controlled one. We shall see if its worth it. First meal was a soup which turned out pretty tasty.

Anyone ever done a cheesecake in the instapot? I want to try it. I hate making these super involved things(eggs, cream cheese, etc), but want to try cheesecake in instapot. Used this thing like twice in past year

You should try making something good. Cheese is good. Cake is good. Cheesecake is inferior to both namesakes.

Great Cake > Great Cheesecake

Bad Cake > Bad Cheesecake

I got one for Christmas and have made yogurt and rice a bunch, but I'm looking to branch out. Might give Walter's recipe a shot (don't have any certified moonstones though )
