^I was interested in it when I first saw the trailer, then forgot about it late. I'll check it out.

ViceFirst ManDeath of StalinThese three should be good.
12/15/2018 12:14:06 PM
I saw Green Book yesterday. My favorite of the year now.
1/2/2019 2:16:16 PM
I took my whole family to watch Mary Poppins Returns last Sunday. It's awesome. Very strong cast and classic Broadway musical.
1/2/2019 3:52:05 PM
^I saw it too, mostly liked it with a few nit-picky complaints. But seeing Dick Van Dyke and Angela Landsbury performing that well (both at age 93) reminded me that today's entertainers cannot hold a candle to what the world used to have.
1/2/2019 7:30:08 PM
Yes, those two are legends. [Edited on January 3, 2019 at 7:53 AM. Reason : Also the British accent makes the movie very special]
1/3/2019 7:51:54 AM
skip watching First Man. It's long, boring, and forgettable.
1/4/2019 7:01:03 PM
The Sisters Brothers was pretty good
1/19/2019 1:43:01 AM
Saw Bohemian Rhapsody. Really good. Not the perfect movie some other people think it is. But I enjoyed it and shed a few tears. Saw it with my brother-in-law who is a musician and knows a lot of people who worked with Freddy Mercury, and he said what they showed in the movie was incredibly tame compared to the stories he's heard.
1/19/2019 4:10:33 PM
that’s why Sacha Baron Cohen left

I've only seen a few indies this year along with movies my wife wants to see like Halloween and Fantastic Beasts. I want to watch Roma when I get time and especially Burning. I think I caught most of these on Amazon so good for them for actually offering movies I want to see. Damn, pretty sure Leave No Trace is on there too.Liked----------------------------------The FavouriteFirst Reformed Eight Grade Meh-------------------------------You Were Never Really HereHereditaryI liked First Reformed the most. I think it's because it made me think of how I could be like if I lost everything and needed a purpose in life. It also kind of scared the shit out of me thinking about how things might be in 25 years. Ethan Hawke is really good and some of the dialogue is top notch. I will admit the ending left me feeling a little cold but it had it's roots in the way other similar films ended.

Just watched Bad Times at The El Royale last week and was blown away. I think it tops the list for 2018 for me. Highly recommend putting it on the top of the to watch list.
1/28/2019 12:14:42 PM
A Star is Born was fine.
1/28/2019 12:26:29 PM
^^It was the movie I was most excited to see this year, still haven't had a chance to (was in theaters when I didn't have time to go, now it's too late). Will catch it on streaming services when it gets there.^I have zero interest.
1/28/2019 3:31:31 PM
I also enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody. And I don't think adding in some extra sex and drug use would've significantly changed the film.
1/28/2019 3:36:42 PM
I saw more than I thought.... Really Enjoyed:A Star Is BornBohemian Rhapsody Green BookBlakkKlansmen Avengers: Infinity WarCrazy Rich AsiansWon't You Be My NeighborSolid but Overrated: Black PantherEighth GradeBird BoxBumblebeeSolid: Deadpool 2Fantastic Beast 2If Beale Street Could TalkReady Player OneBetter Than I Expected(I had low expectations):SoloVenomRampageSkyscraperA Simple FavorKing of ThievesDisappointed:Ralph Breaks The InternetA Quiet PlaceCreed 2OverlordJust Bad:Jurassic World: Fallen KingdomBlockersMaze Runner: The Death CureFather FiguresI Feel PrettyBetter than I expected is really just based on my expectations, and for each movie it was a little different. For example I figured Venom would be the same level of bad as Cat Woman, and it wasn't, so it made that category, haha.

Blockers was damn funny and far from badjust saw Vice and thoroughly enjoyed it
1/31/2019 5:13:00 PM
Night School was a pretty good comedy]
2/1/2019 12:55:28 AM
^^Other than the butt-chug scene, Blockers was extremely forgettable, and I actually like John Cena in comedies(best part of that shitty Amy Schumer and Lebron movie).
2/1/2019 9:33:09 AM
^Trainwreck was pretty funny and far from shitty
2/1/2019 10:15:36 AM
I, too, enjoyed Trainwreck.

I, too, enjoyed Trainwreck

Saw the Spiderverse movie tonight. Liked it very much.

Me too.

Saw BlackkKlansman. It's incredible. My new favorite of the year.
2/7/2019 9:24:54 AM
Going to watch Overlord tonight. Hopefully it will not suck
2/7/2019 1:37:40 PM
I really enjoyed star is born, but i'm probably a sucker for films like that . Great music and casting.Definitely enjoyed bad times at the el royale too...had to make sure it wasn't a tarantino flick]
2/7/2019 2:12:41 PM
really enjoyed Bad Times.
2/7/2019 2:32:50 PM
Speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody, pretty strong job here
2/8/2019 2:34:46 AM
Black Klansman was pretty good. Not "Best Picture" good but pretty good.Roma or The Favourite will probably win since those are the boring foreign films.
2/23/2019 7:55:46 PM
The Favourite isn’t a foreign film, and its not boring I’ve seen 4 of the 8 up for Best Picture, and Vice was my favorite of the 4[Edited on February 23, 2019 at 8:03 PM. Reason : .]
2/23/2019 8:03:30 PM
The Favourite might be a great movie. But I don't know how it's not considered a foreign film.
2/23/2019 8:06:04 PM
because it wasn’t released by a foreign distributor
2/23/2019 8:12:58 PM
Finally saw Bad Times at the El Royale. Absolutely fantastic, I loved every moment of it. I again have a new favorite.
2/23/2019 10:19:36 PM
Spiderverse wins the Oscar![Edited on February 25, 2019 at 8:52 AM. Reason : Mary Poppins Return is nominated for 4 Oscars but doesn't win any.]
2/25/2019 8:42:49 AM
^Mary Poppins didn't deserve any. Fun movie certainly, but not the best made in any category.
2/26/2019 4:12:55 PM
It's more of the reboot of a classic.
2/27/2019 8:19:33 AM
^^^^I couldn't shake the fact that it wasn't a Coen Brothers film. Felt like one in almost every way. Soundtrack, dialogue, set pieces. Although bigger fans than me may disagree. I enjoyed it though. I hated that Don Draper was taken out so early.
2/27/2019 4:38:21 PM
2/27/2019 4:50:33 PM
Soundtrack and setting was very Coen. Storytelling was more Tarantino's style, definitely had some aspects of Four Rooms and Reservoir Dogs (then again, it's not like Tarantino is not the only writer/director to tell a braided narrative out of sequence). The cinematography though...that one long take with John Hamm in the tunnel looking into each of the rooms while Darlene was singing (or maybe it wasn't one take, but it felt like it)...it was just beautiful. Felt a bit like Alfonso Cuaron blended with a hint of Coen.

Also, it doesn't seem to matter what role he's playing or what movie he's in, but Chris Hemsworth just seems like he's having the time of his life when he's acting.
