Except they're ashamed

Germany is nothing like the US South.
10/26/2018 10:37:45 AM
(context = holocaust and slavery)
10/26/2018 11:06:47 AM
I personally didn't know many southerners that weren't ashamed of slavery, but sure, they are some out there. The same can be said about Germans. Are you not following the AfD and Gauland in the news?„haben wir das Recht, stolz zu sein auf Leistungen deutscher Soldaten in zwei Weltkriegen“translates to"We (Germans) have the right to be proud of what the German soldiers accomplished in the 2 world wars."That actually helped him in the campaign. But yeah, modern Germany is nothing like the South. Germany is white, very very white. Like, rich republican white.[Edited on October 26, 2018 at 11:23 AM. Reason : w]

Germany is white??? Tell us more about this fabled land of mystery (none of us have been, multiple times, or have German heritage)[Edited on October 26, 2018 at 11:31 AM. Reason : .]
10/26/2018 11:30:46 AM
They, like the republicans, tend to be harshly exclusive to foreigners and minorities. That was the point.
10/26/2018 11:46:17 AM
Depends on where in Germany, it's not exactly a tiny country and it's got the most people of any country in Europe (Russia is mostly in Asia)Berlin definitely feels a hell of a lot more progressive than Alabama, but what do I know
10/26/2018 12:07:51 PM
Are you not keeping up with the current events? The AfD, Özil leaving the national team, Chemnitz?Berlin? we talkin about Berlin?Berlin is one of the hottest and most affordable partying cities in Europe. Of course it's mixed. But Berlin culture should not be cited as a paradigm of German culture. That would be like using Austin as your main point of comparison for the South. But good for you, you've been to Europe a couple times. Cool story, bro.
10/26/2018 12:16:38 PM
make up your mindfirst you say Germany is nothing like the South, next you're saying it's super white just like the Southcongrats on living in Germany and posting about it whenever you get the chance. Cool story, bro.
10/26/2018 12:18:56 PM
The South aint super white, what the fuck?I never said that. U just trollin, bra. I was referencing current events that you should know about, since you seem to be the king of German culture.

My favorite city in Germany was Munich. Berlin is modern and diverse, but Munich has better food, amazing scenery, and decent weather. Germany is known for it's cars, pretzels, and coo-coo clocks. It is a land of contrasts.
10/26/2018 12:27:35 PM
Germany is know for its cars, beer, and women.Switzerland is the "land of contrasts" in Europe.I can't believe that I came back to TWW for this shit. I thought that we were actually gonna have a discussion.[Edited on October 26, 2018 at 12:39 PM. Reason : l8r]

I had bronchitis and had to see a German doctor once. I speak no German, so I had to use Google translate. I'm allergic to penicillin and it will probably kill me if I take it, but the doctor understood and prescribed me antibiotics that weren't deadly. He apologized for the visit being "expensive," but it only cost me around 50 Euros, and my insurance company reimbursed me, except for the co-pay. I went downstairs to the pharmacy and received my medicine in under 60 seconds, but the pharmacist apologized for the wait in perfect English. German healthcare seems better than American healthcare. 10/10[Edited on October 26, 2018 at 12:59 PM. Reason : .]

Germany known for its women? not nearly on the level of their cars and beer!
10/26/2018 9:42:42 PM
I thought this was a shoot thread

"everyone should be proud of their heritage except those people. screw those people." some diversity lovin progressive probably
10/28/2018 7:35:09 AM
Southerners should be proud of slavery??
10/28/2018 10:52:54 AM
^face palmwhere the hell did i say anything about slavery?

Point was it's racist to group people together and decide how they should act or feel about their ancestry. Each person is unique situation

10/29/2018 12:17:41 PM
lol, you think german healthcare is bad because someone you know had to wait 2 hours?sad dude
10/29/2018 12:29:06 PM
^^ go sit in the ER at Rex and check out how long some people wait
10/29/2018 12:33:48 PM
2 hours?!??!? You fucking joker
10/29/2018 12:42:20 PM
They made him sit out in the hallway after admitting him.And maybe some of you have had bad ER experiences but I've always gotten admitted pretty damn quick.
10/29/2018 4:19:07 PM
Oh heavens no, not the hallway?! Oh lordy how did he ever survive?
10/29/2018 4:25:21 PM
Have you ever been to a medium- to high-traffic hospital even in NC lately? They will admit you and sit your ass in the hallway for hours.
10/29/2018 4:41:35 PM
I’d rather the majority of people not receive care so my wait time is reduced.
10/29/2018 5:40:24 PM
pro-tip: hallways are just rooms with less walls.
10/30/2018 9:23:20 AM
you posted in chit chat and thought you

I popped my shoulder out of my socket so bad I had to go to the hospital in Greensboro, think it was Wesley Pine or some crap? I don't know, I don't live in Greensboro, but I sat in the hallway for 4 hours with my arm literally hanging until they could see me and put it back in.This was in 2016, so my opinion is that Guilford hospitals suck compared to Wake? Never had an issue in Wake, guess it depends on the infrastructure of the area. Point is hospitals suck here too, atleast making you wait possibly 2 hours lol.[Edited on October 31, 2018 at 7:50 PM. Fuck man.Wake Med West FTW, that place is never busy.
11/1/2018 9:01:47 AM
the average wait time to receive pain meds for a broken bone in NC is 1hramong patients admitted, the average time spent waiting before being taken to a room is 2 hourshttps://projects.propublica.org/emergency/
11/1/2018 9:16:17 AM
And it costs more.

The healthcare system in Germany is pretty good. It is one of the few aspects of German culture that I vastly prefer over the American equivalent. It is required by the government and is funded by a tax (around 7.5%) that comes directly out of your paycheck. Your choice of a doctor is not restricted by your plan, and most people end up developing very strong professional relationships with their primary doctor. My son, for example, has had the same doctor for the past 4 years and he frequently makes inquiries into his well-being and overall development. He was one of the few professionals that supported us raising him bilingual in Germany, and he helped us out a lot with speech and language coaches. There is no copay for visiting your doctor or going to the ER, and so far the actual services that they provide are very comparable if not equivalent to those in the US. However, aside from getting sick once this year and injuring my leg during a marathon, I really haven't needed to go to the doctor/hospital that often. I am just very glad that my son has access to it. Things would have been much more complicated in the US.

^ more or less true for all of europe (actually, all white people countries except Murrca), because, gasp... they actually care about their population.
