Sometimes I consider it. It's the thought that counts right?

Yes

If you can afford to use Uber or Postmates you can afford to tip them

While I’d rather Uber pay drivers properly, yes I do tip.

I drove for Uber when it was new to my area and had ridiculously high drivers rates to get drivers, I never expected a tip and wasn’t offended if I didn’t get one. I drove Friday night, and Saturday and Sunday mornings for about 2 months; I got maybe 5 tips the whole time.

I once told an Uber driver I didn't have any cash because I thought I only had a $20. But there was also a $5 tucked in there. So I looked and tried to hand him the $5, but the $20 got caught up and fell in the front seat.. I felt bad because it was like a 20 minute ride, but... I'm not tipping somebody $20...

Anyways. Yes, I'll put a $couple for a ride. I have no idea what postmates is, and I don't think I've ever used prime now. But I probably wouldn't tip them

i try to tip my uber driver at min 5$. I use to tip on the app but i felt like they never felt it was from me and i noticed my rider score starting dipping down. I went back to cash and it's gone back up. People like cold hard cash in their hands.

Definitely, I will leave cash tips when I have it, which is usually the case.

You'll spend more $ in fares though, and also enjoy shittier service.

Not to derail this convo, but do you all tip when you pick up carry out from a restaurant?

^^ depends on the place. If it’s somewhere I go often (for both take out and eating in) I will tip a little. If it’s anything else, no.

There's one place I get wings from and I ask for extra celery and they give me some giant box of celery and don't charge extra, so I'll tip on carry-out.

Speaking of which, you can get a forearm-sized stalk of celery from the Teeter for like $1.99. Can't stand when places give you like 3-4 extra finger-sized pieces and charge you an extra dollar or something.

A buck or two usually if a small order, assuming it's a restaurant with people earning tip wage, as opposed to something like Chipotle.

Pretty sure grocery stores sell celery by the head, but if you have a hookup on celery loosies hook us up.

not only have you never heard the term "stalk of celery", but you didn't even bother to google it before your snarky reply?

and teeter sells containers of loosies in case you've never looked in the refrigerators in the produce section

Yah I obviously know what a stalk is (hence, the call-out), but I've never seen stalks for sale individually in a teeter, and even if they did, $2 would be a stupidly crazy price to ask (even for HT). Plus a "stalk" would be a pretty fucking small forearm AM I RIGHT? Is that what you're rocking?

I spent lots of time in HTs, but I have never seen said containers of complete stalks of celery. What would be the point? The sell them shits by he "head". Google it or something.

this is some BS. I'm not going to be punished for not tipping. Or feel pressured into it.

I had to take an Uber from the airport last week. I tried to book a Lyft, because I had 50% off rides while Uber was in a surge. None of the drivers would accept the Lyft. The lady that picked me up basically said she saw the Lyft requests but ignored them until an Uber request came in.
