As a man, I just can't bring myself to suck on a straw. Just like I can't bring myself to wear sweats in public. Only instance I can think of where I might use a straw would be if I were having a milkshake.

7/12/2018 11:27:23 AM
i too am interested in this drinking in a car difficulty.
7/12/2018 11:55:08 AM
I think the idea is you don't want to drive around with a cup full-to-the-brim with liquid, without a lid on it, because it would spill. So a lid and straw would be practical.]
7/12/2018 12:20:41 PM
Nobody is gonna fill it to the brim then put it in the car. And even if they did, one swig would put it to a more reasonable level. Unless you are driving down a hill or driving crazy, it isn't gonna spill. Besides, aside from drinks from fast food places that come with straws, the only other drink people have in their car is likely either in a bottle with a cap or one of those travel coffee mug things.
7/12/2018 12:35:11 PM
^^ what would that have to do with: "Maybe that's something short people can do"if it was about having a lid why would height have anything to do with it

Ok let’s take it a step further...Men drinking cocktails out of stir straws. A good look or nah?
7/13/2018 5:36:29 AM
So what are dude bartenders supposed to do? Not taste the cocktails they're making to make sure they're good? Take a sip with their lips right on the rim of the highball glass?
7/13/2018 6:22:05 AM
It's not that it's "umasculine," it's that it's childish and undignified. Children ask for straws. Adults drink from the glass, because adults are used to drinking beer, bourbon, wine, and other things which cannot possibly be consumed through a straw by someone with any sense of self-respect.But even childish and undignified things can be of use, which is how we discovered that people can use kickball to get laid. A straw is fine in situations where it fills a need that would otherwise have to be filled by something even more childish, like a sippy cup. A drink in a moving vehicle should have a lid to prevent spillage (and also shouldn't be beer, wine, or bourbon). A drink in a dark movie theater generally should have the same, unless you're in one of the cool theaters that serves beer, in which case you just kind of have to resign yourself that you're going to spill some beer on yourself.
7/13/2018 7:02:07 AM
a straw is always fine because who the fuck really cares
7/13/2018 7:28:12 AM
I went to lunch with a former co-worker several years ago. Our waitress dropped a couple straws on the table along with our drinks. I proceeded to grab mine and hand one to said co-worker, he looked me right in the eyes and said "I don't need no sissy stick"I still used my straw
7/13/2018 8:13:04 AM
I hope you blew the straw paper at him like a blow dart.
