As an aside, we ordered a box of paper straws to keep in the cars. Rather than use plastic straws when we stop somewhere that needs them, we use our paper straws. They hold up pretty well.

we keep stainless steel straws in our cars for the kids to use when we need them. really don't give a shit if a place wants to get rid of plastic straws. there are alternatives. you could always, you know...drink straight from the cup.
